Estates Projects Officer - Decarbonisation Program

Estates Department

The Estates Department is seeking an experienced Estates Projects Officer to support the Trust’s major decarbonisation initiative, which aims to transition approximately 70% of the estate to a District Heat Network as its primary source of heating and hot water. This project has received full business case approval and secured grant funding.

This position presents an excellent opportunity for an experienced and driven individual who is passionate about decarbonisation to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational and communication skills, along with the ability to take initiative. A mechanical background with experience of healthcare heating plant would be advantageous, along with a track record of managing projects in a live operational healthcare environment.

Your new role
You will lead the design and implementation of the Service Configuration Management practice, including creating a comprehensive roadmap, goals, and objectives. The Role and Responsibilities:
Oversee procurement and delivery of various construction, mechanical, and electrical projects, including:

• New build schemes
• Fire door renewals
• Cladding and window renewals
• New heating and ventilation systems
• Electrical distribution upgrades (power, general and emergency lighting)
• Conduct feasibility studies and condition surveys
• Perform defect analysis and measured surveys
• Write specifications and manage contracts
• Administer projects and act as employer's agent
• Undertake site inspections and chair meetings
• Provide progress reports, including financial monitoring statements
• Support and mentor surveyors aiming for MRICS qualification
• Participate in annual bonus scheme and staff social events.

Qualifications and Experience:

• To be successful for this role you will hold an RICS accredited Building Surveying degree (or similar) and have gained experience working within a Surveying consultancy environment. Experience gained working with education projects is preferred. Demonstrable experience within project management and contract administration is essential. Your new role
As an ITSM Consultant specialising in Configuration Management, you will lead the design and implementation of Service Configuration Management practices. Your responsibilities will include defining the mission, roadmap, goals, and objectives of the practice, engaging and managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring consistent execution of the service across the organisation. You will also be responsible for establishing data models, CI discovery strategy, organisational design, tooling selection, and supplier engagement.
What you'll need to succeed

• Excellent understanding of ITIL Best Practice (V3 / ITIL4).
• ITIL Foundation certification as a minimum; advanced Service Management certifications (e.g., ITIL4 Create, Deliver and Support) are highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of the role of Service Configuration Management within enterprise organisations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at different levels.
