Join our team as Engineering Test Technician in St. Cloud, Florida!
Position Summary
Support engineering activities such as test system programing, software updates, test program backups, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting & repair. Responsible for quality assurance and documentation. Relies on a complete understanding of electronic theory, computer skills, schematics, drawings, specification, and other documentation from engineering along with pre-established guidelines to perform job functions. Works with minimal immediate supervision. Provide training and technical leadership for other employees troubleshooting, repair & rework activities.
Your responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Performs troubleshooting, failure analysis and test of assemblies using bench-top test equipment, custom test beds, and automated test systems in compliance with quality assurance policies and methodologies
- Provide test engineering floor support to production personnel, including the maintaining, troubleshooting and repair of test system software and hardware
- Train and support test operators on test equipment, materials and processes
- Provide troubleshooting guidance and technical leadership to rework technicians and operators
- Communicate problems to Test Engineers and/or production personnel as appropriate
- Participate in continuous improvement. Recommend improvements to product flow and throughput, work sequences, test processes and debug techniques. Document as required
- Monitors production processes and test systems to decrease no defects found (NDF’s)
- Assist engineering in test system fabrication
- Maintains a clean, safe, work environment and follow all published/posted safety standards
- This position normally requires exposure to manufacturing areas that require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses with side shields and safety shoes/boots
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
- In-depth understands of electronic theory, both digital and analog
- Skills in computer integration, control and communication with test equipment, test system electronics, sensors, and input/output modules
- Working knowledge of programing, experience with the LabVIEW programing language a plus
- Proficient in test measurement and troubleshooting techniques on electronic assemblies/subassemblies in a manufacturing environment involving Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and EOL Test Systems
- Interpret, and comprehend schematics, mechanical drawing, data sheets, functional specifications, block diagrams, performance specifications, bill of materials (BOM) and engineering change orders (ECO)
- Demonstrates the ability to use a multimeter, programmable power supply, and digital oscilloscope
- Proficient in basic shop skills using hand and power tools
- Awareness of safety and environmental regulations
- Knowledge of quality standards and production techniques
- Demonstrates problem solving skills and the ability to develop creative solutions
- Understand and uses continuous improvement tools
- Proficient in Microsoft office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill in English
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Effective multitasking skills and ability to take on additional responsibilities as required
- Effective organization and prioritization skills
- Works individually and in team environment
- Able to work overtime when needed
Education and Experience Requirements
Two-year technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field; 2-4 years’ experience in test and repair of complex electronic assemblies and systems to component level
