About Us
The Society and College of Radiographers (SoR/CoR) work together as distinct but aligned entities with a shared mission: to promote, advance, and protect the profession of radiography for the benefit of public health. With over 30,000 members, the Society acts as the professional body and trade union for radiographers, while the College drives research, education, and public awareness of radiography.
Our work directly impacts patient care and public health, and we are committed to advancing the science of radiography while safeguarding the interests of our members.
About You
We are looking for a strategic Director of Finance and Operations to lead our financial operations and ensure the organisation is equipped to meet its ambitious goals. As a key member of the senior executive team, you'll work closely with the Chief Executive, Executive Directors, and the Boards of both the Society and the College to drive financial sustainability and contribute to the future of radiography.
Essential Criteria:
You will be an accomplished finance leader with experience in charity and corporate governance, strategic planning, and support services management. A fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPFA or equivalent) with a proven track record of guiding organisations through complex financial landscapes, within membership bodies or charities and ideally with knowledge of trade unions.
- Leadership Excellence: Experience in leading hybrid teams, driving performance, and motivating others to achieve organisational goals.
- Governance & Compliance Knowledge: Expertise in charity, trade union, company, and pensions legislation, with the ability to balance compliance with strategic vision.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate long-term goals into actionable plans and ensure their execution.
- Project Management: Experience delivering complex projects and managing resources efficiently.
- Collaborative Approach: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, influence decision-making, and foster partnerships.
