The Department of Pharmacy Services at Banner University Medical Center provides state-of-the-art pharmaceutical service and patient care. As an Acute Automation Technology Pharmacy Technician joining the team, you will become part of an elite professional group of technicians and work alongside a motivated team to provide first class service to our patients. We work in unison with outstanding pharmacists and committed nursing staff. You will have an emphasis on controlled substance compliance and be responsible for running daily and weekly reports to ensure compliance with state and federal controlled substance laws. You will also have the opportunity to interact and collaborate with nursing leaders as well. Additionally, you will help the Technicians on utilizing the Pyxis, work with the pharmacist on the various formulary management, and work extremely close with pharmacy supply on any new drugs. As the pyxis specialist will assist pharmacists and technicians and other staff in the safe, effective, and efficient operation of the automated medication distribution process; coordinates setup, new builds, installations and expansions, ensuring that all systems, such as network, emergency power, space, etc., are ready for the unit ‘go-live’ and establish and review daily batch reports, such as refill reports, stock out reports, all station events, discrepancies, overrides, ordered meds not loaded, etc.  You will communicate the status of system projects, activities and issues to pharmacy, nursing, and other appropriate staff; inform system operations team of any upcoming HIS interface software changes, nursing unit moves, or other activities that may affect the proper functioning of the system; and monitor system activities and communications with the main hospital information system. Additional responsibilities to include: install new hardware or software when required; troubleshoot the system as issues arise; perform physical inspection of stations, and make or coordinate any necessary repairs; ensure the stations are updated to conform with changes to the formulary; manage the user database and maintain an up-to-date user list and activates, deactivate and delete users as necessary; manage inventory of units, review and adjust par levels, monitor expiration dates, and review orders against medications withdrawn from the stations. POSITION SUMMARY
This position functions in a support capacity for automated technology systems related to pharmacy distribution. This includes implementation, monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting and maintenance of the automated dispensing systems and computer software. Serves as the liaison between the pharmacy and nursing with regard to automated distribution systems. Interacts and trains pharmacy staff, physicians, and nursing staff on automated dispensing technology.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides support in the implementation, installation, maintenance and updating of technology systems related to pharmacy distribution. Coordinate and review implementation plans, monitor and assist installation activities conducted by hospital staff and outside vendors to ensure agreed timetables are maintained. Coordinate information gathering process, including file building, configuration, construction related activities to ensure data integrity and adequate supply resources including delivery of equipment, network drops, and configuration of space on the patient care units, configuration of the cabinet(s) and establishment of inventory and par levels. Act as a liaison to other hospital departments for installation activities and post installation maintenance.

2. Serves as a resource to physicians, hospital personnel, and pharmacy staff in interpreting department/hospital/system policies. Regarding automated dispensing systems, acts as a resource, and may provide training to pharmacy staff, physicians, and nursing staff on the pharmacy distribution systems ensuring all parties have appropriate understanding of the system.
 

3. Monitors and evaluates system activities to ensure systems run properly. Coordinates site visits from vendors for upgrades and maintenance, as needed. Identifies and resolves problems with the medication distribution system, as well as assists in the development and implementation of programs to improve and enhance service quality. This includes analyzing data reports and educating staff on research findings, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issues with existing system programs and making recommendations to the respective vendors for upgrades.
 

4. Review historical data on patient-care-unit specific medication use trends. Interpret data, make recommendations and implement inventory changes in order to maintain safe and appropriate selection of standard stock. Keep adequate supplies on each patient care unit. Coordinate removal of infrequently used non-standard stock items to improve space and medication utilization. Produce a statistically valid analysis of overall automated dispensing system accuracy monthly, including overrides, stockouts, refills, etc.
 

5. Analyzes financial reports generated by the technology systems for the pharmacy department. Presents reports to management and assists with the resolution of issues identified. Work with Manager, Medication Safety and Regulatory Compliance to ensure safe and appropriate selection of floor stock medications throughout the hospital and clinics and review requests for new additions to floor stock. Coordinate approved changes with Pharmacy Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator.
 

6. Act as a liaison to the information technology department as it relates to troubleshooting and resolving technology system related issues. Serve as a liaison between pharmacy and Patient Service Managers during system upgrades and enhancements, coordinate facility moves of machines and related technology and new system installations including medication inventory and IT needs. Provide support to nursing staff during implementation of practice changes relating to the medication distribution system.

7. Assumes the duties of the Acute Pharmacy Technician when needed and as appropriate. These duties may include, but not be limited to preparing, charging and crediting medications, restocking automated dispensing technology and compounding specialty medications and intravenous medications.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires pharmacy technician licensure and active pharmacy technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.

Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.

Minimum of four years pharmacy technician experience. Must have experience working with automated technology systems related to pharmacy distribution. Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator is required. Strong customer service focus, exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, prioritization capabilities, superior problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task. Must have knowledge of computer software, particularly medication management information system software, Microsoft applications and automated dispensing systems. Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills for interfacing with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and other contacts.

Using records management process improvement techniques, you’ll provide your client with recommendations along with a solid grasp of the quantitative and qualitative results they can expect. You will also work with the client on providing property disposition instructions for research contract closure. You Have:  

• 8+ years of experience with leading a team working on large-scale DoD systems, and performing systems engineering in support of command, control, communications, computers, cyber-defense, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance or reconnaissance missions within a Major Defense Acquisition Program.

Title:

KBR is hiring an Information Systems Security Officer / RMF expert in San Antonio, TX. The individual is responsible for providing advice and assistance to the Government regarding secure configuration, authorization, and operation of the client’s IT assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct risk management framework (RMF) assessment and authorization activities of current and future systems
• Mitigate and eradicate malicious activity
• Apply knowledge and experience with standard information systems security concepts, practices, and procedures
• Implement common information systems security practices, policies, and technologies.
• Prepare reports on the status of security safeguards applied to computer systems
• Gather pertinent security documentation and artifacts for inclusion into system authorization packages.
• Establish continuous monitoring plans in accordance with customer guidance
• Use professional experience with controlling, labeling, virus scanning, and appropriately transferring data

(uploading/downloading) between information systems at varying classification levels

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related STEM discipline
• 5 – 10+ years’ experience in related field
• Understanding of systems methodologies including but not limited to client server, web hosting, web content servers, policy servers, directory servers, firewalls, WAN, LAN, switches, and routers
