The primary purpose of this position is to carry-out a wide range of public affairs assignments that include elements of visual information, social media, media operations, community engagement, command information, communication planning, contingency/crisis response, environmental, security, policy review, and public affairs resource management in support of the mission and the commander's priorities. The position modifies standard methods, evaluates the effectiveness of information, and adapts approaches in developing new informational materials aimed at enhancing the understanding of recipients.

Duties

• Coordinates the planning and development of complex, high level public affairs assignments in support of commander's programs and priorities. Carries out public affairs tasks that support the wing commander's priorities through the integration of visual information, social media, community engagement, command information, communication planning, contingency/crisis response, media operations, environmental, security and policy review, and public affairs resource management activities.
• Maintains an active web/social media presence, provides visual information services for documentation and/or publicity purposes and plans and arranges news media coverage. Evaluates the propriety and advisability of agency support of/ participation in local activities, programs, and events.
• Researches, drafts, coordinates, produces, and reviews public affairs products such as, web-based content, photographs, videos, news and feature articles, news releases, talking points, fact sheets, briefings, speeches and scripts, newsletters, and other materials. These items are designed with the objective of effectively communicating agency activities, programs, and policies to a variety of internal and external stakeholders
• Attends meetings and maintains professional contacts. Explains public affairs policies and procedures and resolves most problems that arise. Determines appropriate recommendations for unresolved issues and performs follow up.
• Manages audio visual equipment for section. Appointed as the Wing Visual Information Manager per current DoD directives. Stays abreast of current visual information methodology and technological developments.

As a Public Health Advisor, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

• Serving as a principal representative responsible for coordinated, innovative, community-based and evidence based, or novel public health programs, initiatives, grants and related matters between and among Federal, local, state, and community-based organizations addressing behavioral health issues.
• Serving as the contact point for all inquiries and activities for the Office of Behavioral Health Equity (OBHE) related to infant, children and young adults; drawing on their judgment, experience and knowledge in being able to interact with and obtain critical problem information from groups representing underserved populations, providers, youth with lived experience and or in recovery, families, schools, community-based organizations, states, local county governments, and national associations.

• Verifies and tracks personnel security clearances through the Defense Information System for Security. Responsible for maintaining employee’s personnel security record.
• Prepare and maintain security correspondence, records of official reports, inspections and surveys to ensure the facility is in compliance with all regulations.
• Evaluates all Sensitive Compartmented Information security programs requirements for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) IAW Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705, DoD manuals, and other agencies regulations.
• Serves as the Communication Security (COMSEC) Custodian and a liaison for the COMSEC program.
• Conduct security, vulnerability and risk assessments of a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and provide recommendations.

• Manages physical security equipment including intrusion detection systems (IDS), access control/badging systems, duress systems, closed circuit television (CCTV), fencing, lighting and barriers to effectively protect personnel, facilities and assets
• Prepares statements of work for a variety of physical security systems and equipment.
• Determines Mission Essential Vulnerable Areas (MEVAs) and initiates physical security inspections to determine compliance with established requirements.
