The role:

As our business communications assistant, you will be helping to ensure the team provides an excellent, best-practice communications and marketing service to Portsmouth International Port by meeting our objectives as set out in the port’s business plan and maintaining and enhancing the port’s reputation with all of its stakeholders.
You will do this by supporting our small but very busy team to raise the profile of the port, and our partners at Portico, in a demanding industry, through delivery of tactical communications including social media and copywriting, administrative tasks for the team and wider port colleagues, and organisation of marketing collateral using our online system.

The role also encompasses reputation and issues management through delivery of an excellent complaints and comments service, in line with corporate complaints policies, and collating and organising responses to Freedom of Information requests. We would like to work with somebody that wants to grow a career in communications or marketing, so you should show an ability to help in the delivery of campaigns, while demonstrating a willingness to learn and thrive .

Who is the Person? What you’ll need to succeed:

We are looking for someone with an understanding of and passion for communications, marketing and public relations, who’s ready and willing to learn while getting stuck into the range and variety of tasks that need to be performed for the team to thrive.

This is a key role in driving Portsmouth International Port’s professional communications service forward, so you should be able to grasp tasks quickly and be able to work across multiple projects simultaneously, have excellent organisational skills, and be unafraid to fail.

As you will be dealing with senior colleagues and members of the public a professional attitude is a must, as is the dynamism that will enable to you adapt to different and changing situations.

You will have:

• Proven marketing communications and/or customer service experience, either through work or education, and an understanding of what marketing, communications and PR are and what professionals in the industry do.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills that will enable you to work effectively and efficiently across multiple projects and support the team in their wide-ranging work.
• Confidence to get stuck in, helping organise and participate in a range of engagement activities with the public and wider stakeholders, whether in person or online.
• A professional, personable and confident approach to your work, as you will be dealing with members of the public via our complaints process, working directly with colleagues across the port – including the senior management team – to gather and disseminate information in a timely fashion.
• Analytical skills and an inquisitive mind, which will help you to develop and improve job functions and processes, as well as professionally.
• An excellent standard of written English, as you will be developing materials for multiple communications channels, both external and internal.
• An understanding of, passion for and ability to use multi-media tools, and demonstrable experience across varying social media channels – as well as an understanding of how to analyse performance across these to improve and develop best practice.

Media and Film sit within the Creative Arts and Technologies Department, which is a thriving and dynamic area catering for over 500 students studying a range of A-level, vocational and enrichment courses in Media & Art. We are seeking to appoint a Media Technician (Intern) to provide support for the department. This will encompass a range of duties, but the main focus will be maintaining our resources and working with students and staff in and out of lessons to offer technical support and workshops.
The department has recently benefited from significant upgrading of our already well-resourced Media and Film facilities. Lessons take place in dedicated teaching rooms with excellent facilities for photographic, graphic, HD film and sound editing where staff and students use the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. We also have a new and well-equipped studio space for video, chromakey and photography work. PERSON SPECIFICATION

Serco are recruiting for a Satellite Communications Technician to join their Satellite Communications Team at TCS Oakhanger in Bordon, working on behalf of the US Space Force. The contract falls under Serco’s Space and Security division. The Technician role is to configure for real time support and operate a variety of satellite ground and communication systems. The role also carries out performance of routine maintenance, system checks and tests, fault-finding and troubleshooting / rectification.

The role will suit someone with experience working in a technical role dealing with testing and problem resolution. Full training, mentorship and support will be provided for the successful candidate with a desire to learn new skills and become an integral part of the team.

Your contributions to the O&M team:


- Reporting to the Technical Delivery Manager
- Comply with Serco’s Management Systems and USSF policies / procedures
- Carry out or assist with planned maintenance activities and system troubleshooting as required
- Once fully certified, will act as senior person in operational areas when required, and report all events to the Operations Manager
- Engage in technical discussions with stakeholders (US operations management) and Serco management teams on site issues
- Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with the site’s weekly Preventative Maintenance Instruction rotation.
- When fully trained and certified, to participate in a one in three weekly call-out rota assisting with uninterrupted 24/7 operations along with other department members
- Carry out Document Reviews, Risk Assessments and Planned General Inspections as required.
- Opportunity for overtime will become available once fully certified.

You will be responsible for delivering day to day communications and engagement activities, with a particular focus on our reactive and proactive media, issues management and briefings/engagement with our key external stakeholders. The role will involve communicating complex and contentious information to a wide variety of individual and groups, ensuring the information is accurate and accessible to each relevant audience. You will also be supporting PHU to fulfil its legal duties around patient and public involvement, ensuring partners, public and staff are actively engaged and able to influence decisions in a way that contributes to improved health services. We are looking for a Social Media Officer to join our team in Portsmouth.

We are looking for someone who is outgoing, engaging and creative. Someone with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and great attention to detail.

Roles & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- This role's core responsibility is to manage the day to day running of the Networks social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social platforms) and the SSEN Website.

- Manage customer enquiries and complaints on social media, track network damage, maintain customer satisfaction above 9/10, update business webpages as requested, run social media campaigns aligning with business goals, and plan daily posts for the upcoming week.

- Providing analytics reports for business areas, including reach, engagement, website analytics and sentiment scoring are also key to this role.'

We are a 24/7 department working 365 days a year delivering an industry leading experience to our customers. A mixture of earlies, mids, lates and night shift working will be required. Stand-by is also required.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Previous experience in a customer service role (written/face to face/telephone).

- Experience in handling complaints.

- Flexibility and willingness to support the department when required.

- Experience in Microsoft Office.

As our Internal Communications Manager, you will provide internal communications support and expertise to our business units, to drive employee awareness and engagement across the unit, and to work with communications and marketing colleagues to help raise our profile and reputation in the external market.
