Any offers of appointment will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formerly CRB), a certificate of good conduct if applicable, plus receipt of satisfactory references, Occupational Health clearance, an understanding of safeguarding and qualifications verification. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this position as you will be working within 'Regulated Activity' within a specific
place (i.e. the College).

BACKGROUND TO THE POST

The Finance Assistant – Sales Ledger will be part of the team responsible for the day to day operation of the College’s sales ledger system, including raising invoices and debt collection.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
✓ Collecting student fees and ensuring outstanding debts are progressed efficiently.
✓ Raising of invoices for all customers e.g. employers, students, and commercial activities.
✓ Debt Recovery – issuing statements and making phone calls to debtors.
✓ Chasing outstanding debts, dealing with queries and problem solving.
✓ Processing telephone and online payments.
✓ Monitoring and Recording Actions
✓ Posting of cash received to the sales ledger within the Agresso Finance Systems.
✓ Production of reports, reconciliation and Allocations of Accounts.
✓ Liaising with other departments to solve queries.
✓ Carrying out any other Finance duties as required.
In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

ESSENTIAL ATTAINMENTS
✓ GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics, or Level 2 equivalent qualification.
✓ Experience in Credit Control and working in a busy Finance Department.
✓ Working knowledge of information technology such as e-mail, the internet and other software applications including Excel.
✓ Excellent administrative and organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines.
✓ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate at all levels.
✓ Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
✓ Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

✓ Sound knowledge and experience of sales ledger processes
