The primary purpose of this position is: an Air Reserve Technician (ART), to manage the unit Air Transportation Quality Assurance program and assist the aerial port senior ART in managing day to day activities. DUTIES:
Duty 1 - Provides assistance to APS senior ART in directing and managing the day-to-day activities of the Aerial Port Squadron.
Duty 2 - Manages the Aerial Port's Air Transportation Standardization/Evaluation (ATSEV) & Quality Assurance (QA) program.
Duty 3 - Directs and manages all Unit Type Code (UTC) qualification requirements and command directed aerial port systems.

The Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist - Mobility Manager supervises/ensures the VTS and BT processes comply with regulatory guidance, while assuring program effectiveness. They serve as the Contracting Officer Representative for all transportation contracts, including common carrier, Special Mode, ambulance, and air ambulance. The incumbent is also responsible for working with state Veterans and Transportation Agencies and local transportation providers to establish expanded transportation networks to improve Veterans access to care.

Major duties include but are not limited to:

• Manages the Veterans Transportation Program at the facility which provides safe and reliable transportation to Veterans who require assistance traveling to and from VA health care facilities and authorized non-VA health care appointments within the Medical Center's catchment area;
• Orchestrates travel for eligible enrollees through mileage reimbursement and contracted travel modes;
• Plans, develops, evaluates, markets and directs key administrative activities in multiple programs related to transportation system for Veterans, active duty service members, Caregivers and others in metropolitan and rural/remote rural areas, especially those which are disabled, frail, elderly or receiving life dependent treatments (dialysis, chemo therapy, radiation therapy, etc.);
• Conducts complex and special studies for efficiency and productivity and recommends changes or improvements in work methods and procedures;
• Identifies resources (staffing, funding, equipment, facilities) required to support varied level of program operations;
• Manages transportation budget, analyzes organizational budgets, and provides advice and recommendations to Medical Center management, as appropriate, including critical budget areas and all Transportation program matters;
