The Physical Therapist / LANA certified Lymphedema Clinical Specialist will function in accordance with:

• Is viewed as a clinician, whose skills are beyond entry-level competence, functioning beyond the full performance level of a staff physical therapist and whose skills demonstrate the ability to perform with a high degree of autonomy in patient care and exercising independent problem-solving skills.
• Possesses advanced knowledge and expert skill in a range of specialized interventions and treatment modalities used in Lymphedema Physical Therapy. Such knowledge would typically be acquired through a minimum of 2 years clinical experience in the specialty area, or a Board Certification by the Lymphedema Association of North America (LANA), completion of a clinical residency or fellowship program, or by obtaining an advanced degree in a related field.
