The post is primarily to provide assessment, psychological therapy and consultation for the care of service users within the Blackburn with Darwen areas.

The teams provide services to people with complex mental health needs. Psychological therapies and psychologically informed care are valued within the teams and network, and are fully integrated within mainstream adult mental health services. The post holder will be operationally managed within the teams as a core team member, while strong professional leadership works alongside operational management to support the role.

An interest in working with individuals experiencing significant levels of complexity and personality difficulties will be essential. What You Will Do:

Help to maintain a safe environment and report faults/risks etc to the nurse in charge Liaise with nurse responsible for stores/stationery and ordering and assist in the maintenance of stock levels Handles patients personal possessions, ensure cash and valuables kept securely Correct care and custody of controlled drugs and aid the safe storage of medicines and the return of any unused chemotherapy to pharmacy Assist medical staff with procedures Demonstrates the agreed set of values and accountable for own attitude and behaviour EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT The staff nurse is responsible for their own personal development and maintaining a personal development plan To complete the Ward introductory pack and preceptor pack Complete Clinical Skills Training and the UKONs SACT passport Annually attend all mandatory study days including Resuscitation, AIMs, moving & handling and fire safety To complete level 3 SACT administration programme to administer cytotoxic drugs and educate patients regarding their treatment To be working towards band 6 equivalent competency pack PERSONAL Demonstrate a pleasant and approachable manner and help create and promote a good working relationship Show professional and courteous manner when answering the telephone and other enquires Maintain confidentiality with regard to patient information both at work and outside of working hours To be aware of and adhere to all policies including; sickness and absence, confidentiality, uniform and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act Report and record all accidents and complaints according to the agreed policy To be aware of limitations and utilise the preceptor system for any issues that arise To show respect for members of the team and endorse the SACT Day Services philosophy of giving mutual support
