An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive administrator to join the Locomotor service at St Leonard’s. The post holder will also provide administrative support to the Locomotor Service.
The candidate must have previous experience in an administration role involved with patient appointments, knowledge of internal tools / processes. Experience of working with the patient booking software would be an advantage, as well as excellent and sensitive communication skills.
You will be based on site in the physiotherapy department at St Leonard's and will be involved in dealing with patients face to face at our busy reception desk and over the phone. You will also be involved with providing face to face patient support in our pain service introductory session.
You will work closely with a team of administrators, Physiotherapist, Psychologists, Occupational therapists and pain consultants.
You will have the opportunity to develop and extend your skills in a department committed to continuing education and training.
Please note that candidates will be required to attend a face to face interview and complete a computer based skills test.
Some of the key aspects of this support comprise:
• Booking patient appointments and maintaining the integrity of the service data bases.
• Dealing with patient queries and concerns regarding their appointment both face to face on the reception desk and over the phone.
• Speaking to patients about their appointments who may be in pain or distressed
• Working with interpreters
• Assisting physiotherapists and allied health professionals (AHPs) in the registering on arrival of patients in group settings and supporting the preparation of said groups.
• Assisting admin lead and Service leads in ensuring service capacity is maximised and maintained in line with department key performance indicators.
• Liaising with other teams and GP practices.
• Working closely with Physiotherapists and AHP’s in the organisation of clinics & appointments.
• Assisting administration lead with office based admin tasks such as contacting patients, preparing clinic letters, processing referrals
• Collating waiting list statistics and inputting patient data
• Minute taking at clinical meetings
