We have six business units in our UK & Europe Division, with around 25,000 employees delivering services across our core capabilities, which includes Health, Defence, Justice and Immigration, Citizen Services, Transport and Community Services. Our enabling services teams provide critical services to the business units.
As Internal Communications Specialist you will provide internal communications support and expertise to our enabling services teams, such as HR or IT, that support our operational business. You will support employee awareness of the enabling services across the business and support employee engagement within the enabling services teams.
You will build strong working relationships with leaders and senior managers across the division so that you are fully aware of business activity taking place and can identify opportunities for communication. Your main responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication plans for internal communication projects/campaigns, delivering timely and effective communication throughout the business.
- Draft, copy write and proof-read a range of communication materials including leaflets, newsletters, brochures.
- Develop digital content for a range of channels including email, intranet, internal social media channels, video.
- Take complex information and create clear messages that are relevant to the audience.
- Proactively develop and manage the administration required to coordinate the network of Communications Champions.
- Support Business Unit Communication Managers and marketing/external communication colleagues as required.
- Actively support the Head of Internal Communications through proactive activity and encouraging innovation. What you’ll need to do the role:As this is an Internal Communication Specialist role, previous and proven experience of implementing corporate internal communications is essential. You will have experience using internal social media, creating digital content (including videos) and event co-ordination with excellent attention to detail. You will have the ability to co-ordinate the production of communication content and materials with internal stakeholders and external partners, whilst prioritising simultaneous projects and deadlines.
You will also have proven experience of successfully managing and implementing key projects from start to finish.
- Experience using various MS tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams.
- Ability to work at professional level with direction and technical supervision from more experienced communications professionals.
- A desire to learn and develop – career progression encouraged and supported.
