About you and this role
We are looking for you, an ambitious bachelor / master’s student, to support our Energy & Environmental Operations by doing an internship project / thesis in Electrical Power Consumption Data Exchange with public grid supplier for our location in Schkopau, Germany.

Project description
Based on the Technical Guideline SO Gl of the transmission system operators, a data exchange between the grid operator DOW/INetzG and 50hertz is required.
The content of this data exchange is medium and short-term schedule data on the power consumption of the INetzG grid. This schedule data is based on power values of certain selected consumers/plants at the Schkopau site. The process of data input, acquisition and transmission must be developed. Furthermore, the relevant interfaces and responsibilities of those involved partners must be recorded. The aim of this master thesis is to develop the optimum solution for Dow to ensure a largely automated system is to be implemented based on a comparison of variants.
Responsibilities
- Understand and evaluate current market communication setup at Dow Schkopau site
- Perform market and technology study on required state of art communication technologies with 50hertz
- Develop scalable optimal load forecasting solutions and improvement options based on different requirements and cases
Qualifications
- You are currently studying for a bachelor's / master’s degree or equivalent in process automation engineering, electrical engineering, information engineering or related courses of study
- You have a good working knowledge of English and German
- Solid understanding of processes
- Sound knowledge in data collection technology, including data mining and evaluation
Preferred skills
- Strong teamwork capabilities and communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently
- Structured approach to handling multiple work contexts

You can start in May 2024 for a period of 5 months (exact timing to be discussed).
