We have an exciting opportunity for Internationally Educated Midwives to join our OSCE training programme, to enable you in obtaining your NMC registration.
You will join us as a Band 4 pre-registration Midwife, progressing to Band 5 once you have completed a bespoke OSCE programme of at least 12 weeks and gained your NMC PIN. You will then undertake a 12 to 24 month Midwifery Preceptorship programme, on completion your salary will increase to Band 6.
You must hold a Midwifery qualification and have an active registration overseas. Please ensure you have completed your NMC eligibility and qualification application and have completed your CBT and OET/IELTS prior to application. You must be dedicated to undertaking additional study and to passing your OSCE.

We would also expect you to stay with The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust for at least 3 years after you become NMC registered to build on your skills. Should you decide to leave the Trust during your training or before 24 months we will seek to reclaim the relevant costs in regards to your recruitment/training.
• Undertake care of antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal women and their babies, as per Trust guidelines, polices, procedures within National guidance and according to NMC Rules and Codes.
• To provide inclusive midwifery care that is woman/pregnant person focused and evidence in all midwifery settings, which may include working within a continuity of carer model in line with recommendations of Better Births (2016).
• You will be expected to work autonomously within guidelines and the sphere of professional practice to implement personalised care.
• You will be able to provide care throughout the antenatal, birth and postnatal period, while ensuring a holistic approach to woman’s/pregnant person’s physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs are met. Effective multi-disciplinary working is essential, communicating and referring to the Team of Specialist Midwives, Obstetricians and Consultant Midwife where required to ensure appropriate and safe care is provided.
• To participate in the design and development of new ways of working that benefit the women/pregnant people and their families whilst improving working conditions of the team.
• The post-holder has a defined sphere of practice and should provide motivation within a midwifery team and be a resource for knowledge and clinical expertise.

Funding Support Package by the Trust
• We will reimburse you for your CBT and IELTS/OET examination, up to 1 attempt. You will be required to self-fund for further attempts.
• We will also reimburse you for your NMC application fee and NMC registration fee.
• Flight to the UK and travel to the hospital.
• In order to support your relocation, the Trust will pay your accommodation costs for the first three months of employment
• Certificate of Sponsorship.
• Funding of NMC OSCE training and exam costs and accommodation.
• Funding of the OSCE, the Trust will cover the funding for 2 OSCE attempts, however you will be required to pay for a third re-sit if required.
