Key Responsibilities:
• Disassemble valve and cylinder assemblies for inspection and maintenance
• Replace defective parts and reassemble components for testing
• Perform hydrostatic testing of cylinders in line with Department of Transport standards
• Charge assembled cylinders up to pressures of 4500 PSI
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with quality and safety regulations
• Provide additional support to the safety inflatable team as needed

Experience & Qualifications:
• Engineering/workshop experience preferred but not essential
• Familiarity with oxygen systems, cylinder charging, and valve overhaul is advantageous

The candidate will work alongside an established team of APs, specialising in dissection as appropriate. The post holder will be recognised as specialist in their field, and as such the expert practice of the function will comprise the most significant part of their role. The Breast Unit is a busy department working within both the National Breast Screening service and a Symptomatic Breast service. The ability to work both in a team and independently, and to communicate in a wide variety of settings, is essential.

The Newcastle Breast Screening Service delivers a screening service to a large rural area therefore a current driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Applicants for the above posts must hold a degree in Diagnostic or Therapeutic Radiography, be HCPC registered and have working knowledge of NHS policies and procedures.
