We have recently completed a review of our Midlothian Sport & Leisure Service structure and are ready to move forward with our service which;
- Meets the needs of Midlothian residents to enable them to be physically active, providing a positive & safe environment & varied programme of opportunities to be active.
- Meets the needs of Sport & Leisure staff, providing them with a positive working environment, feeling valued, supported and with opportunities to develop.
As part of our Sport & Leisure Service, our development programme is dedicated to supporting & developing high quality, inclusive & accessible opportunities for the people of Midlothian.
We are looking for dynamic and motivated team members to support the Sport & Leisure Duty Officers in the day to day operations of Sport & Leisure facilities including lifeguarding, gym supervision & instruction and sports activities.
Essential
Standard Grade in Maths and English or equivalent
RLSS Pool Lifeguard Qualification
1 years’ experience of working in a Sport & Leisure or Customer Service role.
Desirable
Sports Coaching qualification
Swim Teaching Qualification
Level 2 Gym Instruction
A pool test will be required prior to interview

Requirements

Hours of Work: Various (ranging from 18 - 33.25 hours per week)
Working Pattern: 1 or 2 week rota (dependant on the hours per week)
Weeks per year: 52
Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
The hourly rate for this position starts at £13.11
Responsibilities
Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard. This requires completion of a disclosure check for all employees who can access official information. The fee for this PSN Disclosure check will be met by you.
