The Role

We’re excited to offer an opportunity for a Community Facilities Assistant to join our Facilities Team. Based primarily at The Campus, a vibrant hub for Herons’ Moor Academy, Baytree School, Locking Castle Children’s Centre, and various leisure and library facilities, you will play a key role in keeping our spaces functional, safe, and welcoming. You’ll work a 3 week rolling rota schedule that includes early shifts (6 am–12:30 pm), late shifts (2 pm–10 pm), and one weekend in three. Key Responsibilities:

In this varied role, your daily tasks will include:

Facilities and Maintenance Support: Respond to staff and user queries, address building issues, and handle room setup requests. Perform small DIY repairs such as fixing cupboard doors, putting up notice boards, or reactive Health & Safety works.
Waste and Environmental Compliance: Ensure safe waste disposal in line with North Somerset Council (NSC) guidelines and ISO14001 standards.

We have an opportunity for a full time Teaching Assistant, to work with a range of pupils with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties, working under the direction of a class teacher to teach groups of pupils and support individual children to meet their needs in relation to their targets as defined by their Education and Health care Plans, through our holistic curriculum. Teaching Assistants at Two Bridges Academy support the class teacher to lead a team of support staff and may occasionally provide whole-class cover, as directed by the class teacher. This role would suit a teaching assistant/support staff with significant experience of education settings and/or or those with experience of covering classes of children.
