The difference you will make as a Support Assistant

You will be key in the day-to-day running of one of our supported housing services. We don’t run care homes, so there’s no need to provide personal care. The priority in your role includes the safety and wellbeing of everyone in our accommodation, including our customers.

Working with people who have a range of needs, you could be doing any number of things. From supporting customers in conversations with calls from their GP, Social Services, or Benefits teams – to dealing with the emergency services including the Police and Ambulance, when the need arises.

You’ll log all incidents to make sure we have an accurate record of events. And when a customer leaves, you will clean and prepare their room, ready for the next occupant.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Floating Store Associate to work in our friendly stores across Bolton and Greater Manchester!

This will be a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate, motivated, and keen to help raise funds to support the most vulnerable children and young people in the UK.

As a Store Associate you will support the Store Manager, other Store Associates, and volunteers to help run a busy store, you will have the opportunity to develop and learn within the store. Weekend work will be a key part of the role.

Store Locations- This role will involve working in stores across the Bolton and Greater Manchester area, therefore flexibility and ability to travel between stores is essential!

Please note this role will on occasion involve lone working.

Hours: 35 Per Week.

Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2025

Some of the Key Responsibilities

Excellent Customer Service
Visual Merchandising
Organising Stock, Pricing and Steaming stock before going on the shop floor.
Ensuring Stock is generated over the door by members of the public and ensuring donors sign up for gift aid.
Implement any promotion in the store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager or your Store Manager.
Achieve and maintain high standards of housekeeping, organisation and cleanliness throughout the Store, including the sales floor and stockroom areas.
Actively encourage the public to donate saleable stock.
Rotate stock on a daily basis so that no garment remains on the shop floor for any longer than the agreed time limits.
Ideal candidates should have

Experience of working in a retail environment due to the nature of the store.
Experience of cash handling
Working in a customer service environment
Experience of working on own initiative
Knowledge of working in a fashion environment
Basic IT skills

The post holder will carry out a broad range of clinical duties, under the guidance of our registrants, including: - Establishing a professional rapport with your patients, their relatives and your colleagues. - To have a good understanding of the complex needs of your patients. - Communicate effectively with your patients, their relatives and your colleagues. - Ensure privacy and dignity are maintained at all times. - Delivering personal care including assisting patients with their elimination needs. - Have full understanding of a patients mobility abilities and provide assistance when required. - Providing support to patients who require enhanced care. - To assist patients, where necessary by the use of appropriate aids/appliance, to achieve physical comfort. This will involve the safe moving and handling of patients to varying degrees dependant on their condition and care needs. - Serve meals and drinks to patients, and assist patients with their nutritional needs. - Bed making, correct disposal of linen and waste. - Provide information to enable the effectiveness of the care to be evaluated and accurate records maintained. - Contribute to patient safety. - Work collaboratively with your colleagues, to deliver high standards of patient care. - Work within the limitations of your own competence and scope of practice, seeking assistance when required. - Actively provide support and reassurance to patients and their relatives. - Act as an advocate for your patients. - Report and escalate any concern regarding patient care. - Ensure safekeeping of patient's property and valuables within Trust guidelines You may be required to work across a number of wards and departments across the Division on a rotational basis so this is a great opportunity to develop your skills and experience in a number of different clinical areas.
