To support with the implementation of the Food First Service in Milton Keynes. To work closely with care homes across Milton Keynes to support them with meetingthe Care Quality Commissions (CQC) Regulation 14: Meeting nutritional and hydration needs, by delivering the projects training and audit programme. Main duties and responsibilities To assist the planning and delivery of Food First training to health and social care staff in the community. The purpose of this training is to empower others to be able to identify and manage malnutrition and dehydration appropriately. To complete audits of nutritional care plans kept by care homes. Communication To possess appropriate communication skills to be able to provide nutrition and hydration information to carers, other health professionals and the general public. This will include group training sessions, meetings and communication via email or telephone. This involves communicating with healthcare staff with differing nutritional knowledge, where there may be barriers to changing current practice, requiring negotiation and effective and adaptable communication skills. To establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with people working outside of the Food First Team, including care home staff and other healthcare professionals. Personal Development To be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through CPD activities and to maintain a portfolio which reflects personal development. To participate in the staff appraisal scheme as an appraise and be responsible for complying with your agreed personal development programmes to meet set knowledge and competencies. Organisational Liaison with and teaching of therapeutic skills to other health care professionals, and students. The post-holder will support the Head of Clinical Transformation in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The post will provide an important administrative and strategic function to aid the Head of Clinical Transformation in transformative and business as usual activities at CNWL.

As this post holder is often the first point of contact to the Head of Clinical Transformation, the post holder will therefore need to have excellent interpersonal and telecommunication skills.

The post holder will be required to work in a busy and demanding environment and should be able to work without direct supervision and to exercise initiative. The ability to multi-task is also essential. The post requires the ability to work on own initiative and to liaise effectively with a broad range of professions and to maintain client confidentiality. To work alongside and to cover, when appropriate, other administration staff across several locations in some instances.

This is a varied and challenging post, suited to an individual with excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, strong organisational skills, ability to adapt and take on new learning and a ‘systems approach’ to problem-solving.
