Our client is looking to recruit the roles of Senior Ecologist/Ecologist, and/or Ecological/Environmental Clerk of Works. Candidates will bring their experience, enthusiasm, and knowledge. We are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a freelance basis for a Civil Engineering Contractor based across multiple schemes across Scotland.

This will be working on part of a Scottish Water Framework.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil engineering and will be well-versed in the NEC contract. You should be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. You should also have excellent communication skills, as you will be liaising with a variety of stakeholders throughout the project.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Preparing and managing budgets and cost plans
• Conducting cost analysis and reporting on the financial status of projects
• Providing advice on contractual matters, including the interpretation of the NEC contract
• Managing change control procedures and assessing the impact of change on project costs
• Preparing and submitting interim and final valuations
• Negotiating and agreeing on final accounts with contractors and sub-contractors

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Extensive experience in civil engineering, including highways and infrastructure projects
• Experience working with the NEC contract
• Strong commercial acumen and a thorough understanding of cost management principles
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
