The role
As a Senior Concessions Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll provide technical liaison between the spares business and customer and supplier technical representatives.
Day to day, you'll lead, monitor and manage the spares engineering team, including specialist input as well as support the spares business manager to meet business targets; e.g. operational spend, enquiry/order turn-round time, quality assurance performance, growth targets, etc.
Key Duties:
- Undertake technical review and approval of all spares tenders before submission to customer, to ensure that all offers are technically compliant to customer requirements and are technically feasible.
- Undertake technical review and approval of concessions and non-conformance requests to ensure that appropriate engineering justification and substantiation are in place.
- Monitor engineering resources required to support the spares business; drive efficient delivery and advise spares and engineering functional management of developing resource requirements.
- Manage engineers and specialists from different technical disciplines to resolve issues.
- Lead engineering and quality assurance investigations into technical issues.
- Represent the engineering discipline at meetings, both internally within the spares management team and externally with suppliers or customers.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to the spares management team.
- Defining component specifications to meet customer requirements. This can include determining modern equivalent replacements to meet the key criteria of obsolete legacy systems
This role is full time, permanent and can be based at either of our Warrington, Bristol or Leicester sites.
Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met.
Essential experience of the Senior Concession Engineer:
- Broad knowledge of manufacturing engineering; tolerances, materials, surface treatments, manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to gather and interrogate information from various document management systems and databases.
- Desirable to have previous experience working with IBM Document Manager, Windream, Alchemy, AUTODESK Vault, Microsoft Dynamcis AX although not essential.
- Ability to plan and prioritise engineering resources to meet business requirements.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor would be desirable although not essential.
- Able to manage multiple independent tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing business priorities.
