We are seeking enthusiastic and self-motivated pharmacists to join our large team of band 7 senior pharmacists to provide pharmacy and medicines optimisation services to patients at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Pharmacy Department is highly regarded in the Trust and has 270 staff members. The department is friendly, forward thinking and constantly expanding with opportunities for personal development and further postgraduate education. It is compulsory for our pharmacists to complete a postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent. Furthermore, we are constantly expanding our pool of non-medical prescribing pharmacists. We support pharmacists to pursue opportunities in research to further expand their portfolio.

Investment in facilities includes automated dispensing in our large main dispensary, which covers inpatient, outpatient and home delivery services. We have four satellite dispensaries, attached to specialist areas to promote efficient dispensing. Our dispensaries are led by experienced pharmacy technicians allowing clinical staff to focus on patient care, medicines optimisation and care group work. Omnicell cabinets are used in the Emergency Department and Major Trauma Ward, supporting automated pharmacy services on ward level. The aseptic unit holds of a “Specials” Manufacturing Authorisation (MS) licence by MHRA.

Our band 7 pharmacists support discharges through transcribing and non-medical prescribing in most of our rotations. Rotations include antibiotics and infectious diseases, critical care, haematology and oncology, paediatrics, surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, acute and specialist medicine, cardiology, cardiac surgery, technical services, clinical trials, and patient services. There is the exciting opportunity to participate in a secondment to the island of St Helena.

MAIN RESPONSIBILTITES Collect blood samples by venepuncture from patients on request from clinicians, doctors and nurses, in accordance with the phlebotomy standard operating procedure. Ensure correct care, labelling, recording and maintenance of accurate records for each venepuncture. Have due respect for privacy and dignity Ensure subject is comfortable and relaxed as much as possible, and obtain verbal consent prior to collecting blood samples. If requested, to visit other areas to undertake venepuncture for subjects who are unable to attend the phlebotomy department without delay. Have a good knowledge and understanding of the purpose of the different blood collection devices, and be able to pass on knowledge to trainees, as required. The post is for 5 days per week Monday to Friday, from 0900-1700, although these hours are open to a degree of movement.

14. Be able to use Trust’s Patient Administration System (PAS) to find subject details when needed, e.g. to confirm identity before taking any blood samples.
15. Assist in delivery of samples to the Pathology Department whenever is necessary to do so.
16. Notify nursing staff, preferably nurse in charge, if there are any concerns for the subjects care.
17. Liaise with members of the administrative team and communicate well with team members.
18. When requested, pack and despatch blood samples correctly for transport to the appropriate laboratories.
19. Check that all consumables are always in sufficient quantity, order and re-stock regularly.

We’re looking for an experienced, self-motivated senior communications officer to join our busy Communications office.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering a wide range of internal and external communications activities, including planning, development, delivery and evaluation of high quality communications plans and content that promote staff engagement and the work of the Trust, for both operational day-to-day activities and key projects.

They need be capable of writing for different audiences and platforms, show creativity and initiative in their work, have an appetite for learning and demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied workload.

The post holder will be expected to act as a communications generalist working across a number of disciplines: internal communications and staff engagement; external communications and stakeholder engagement; social media, event management and media relations. They are looking for an experienced Senior Repairs Contracts Supervisor to manage a large team of operatives covering contracts involving responsive repairs, cyclical and housing repairs.

Duties:

• Management of the contract ensuring that all operatives are working efficiently and
  productively
• Ensuring that suppliers/subcontractor works are carried out in accordance with the work
  sheets given and in a timely manner meeting all contract KPI targets
• Liaising with the customers and dealing with any queries or issues which may arise
• Ensuring works are completed on time and to a high-quality standard
• Ensure all client's expectations are achieved
• Must have responsive repairs manager experience within social housing, local authority or contractor background.
• Ensure that paperwork and reports are fully completed and submitted in-line with the Company
  procedure
• Experience managing projects where day to day and cyclical repairs are at the forefront of the work.
• Experience managing a team of operatives (toolbox talks, performance reviews etc)
• Driving from site to site as part of the daily duties. (Working from home for the time being)
