Your new role
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for all sourcing activity on behalf of the organisation, and will primarily be focused around purchasing raw materials, though there will still be an element of indirect procurement. Leading a team of 2 Buyers, the Senior Buyer / Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the team performance and savings targets.

ROLE SUMMARY The Senior Ophthalmic Technician will play an integral role in the delivery of clinical services by performing detailed clinical tests, supporting the clinical assessment of each patient and ensuring that all patients understand their treatment. The role will lead the Clinic team, overseeing the work of the Ophthalmic Assistant team, providing advice, support and training as required. Appropriate clinical assurance is provided from registered healthcare professionals within the team. The role will work as part of a small team with Consultant Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Ophthalmic Assistants, Nurses and Administration Staff. Alongside clinic assistants, they also contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the clinic and ensuring patient records are maintained accurately. The role will also support the effective running of theatre as and when required, under the guidance of the Lead Theatre Practitioner. Combining a friendly and accessible personal manner with advanced clinical testing skills, the Senior Ophthalmic Technician will pride themselves in delivering a great patient experience and on their ability to work within small teams to maintain and enhance processes to maximise quality and efficiency. A background of biological or healthcare science would be an advantage and a desire to learn is required. It is essential the role holder has a strong understanding of diagnostic services, including ophthalmic assessments.
