An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Business Development and Support team supporting the implementation of a new major IT system and the associated business change.

Working between home and office in a hybrid workstyle, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Business Systems Manager in the replacement of the line of business systems within Housing (HSMS - Housing Services Management System and CHR (Common Housing Register) You will also support the implementation of the wider programme of works across Enterprise and Communities.

You will be responsible for delivering key projects and identifying and maximising benefit realisation via effective and timely project management and deliverables across several improvement projects and business areas. You will ensure the production and updating of key documents as defined within the project governance process. The post will contribute to the ongoing successful delivery of the wider North Lanarkshire Council vision.

You will support the procurement, development, and implementation of the replacement line of business system and wider digital technology. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, identify any risks or issues and consider and evaluate the change impact on existing staff including the implementation of training and support plans.

Educated to SVQ Level 4, HND or general degree in an ICT related or other relevant subject, project management knowledge, this exciting post will be key in delivering multi-faceted change management within the Service that will align with The Plan and help facilitate the Council’s ongoing Programme of Works.

You will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written and have a history of successful IT project management. You will require excellent time management skills with the ability to manage complex competing priorities.

Self-motivated, confident with excellent interpersonal skills you will be able to work both on your own initiative and or as part of a team. Experience of working in a fast-paced change management environment with an awareness of the challenges and opportunities presented by digital change.

Experience in HSMS, CHR and financial planning involving revenue and capital budgeting, developing, and implementing training plans and knowledge of corporate governance and procurement practices in the public sector are also desirable.

The post is temporary for a period of up to 23 months.

Working Pattern

Monday - Thursday: 8:45am - 4:45pm (including a 55-minute unpaid break)

Friday: 8:45am - 4:15pm (including a 50-minute unpaid break)

North Lanarkshire Council are seeking to appoint a Senior Technician to lead our technician services within Taylor High School.

You will ensure the effective and safe operation of the services provided by technician staff, in the fields of science, workshop and ICT.

Your main duties will involve the administrative responsibility in accordance with council policy for technician staff in matters affecting Conditions of Service, time keeping, holidays etc. Supervision and instruction where appropriate of trainee technicians are essential as is links with the Technical Service Manager and any other agencies relating to technical support. You will carry out any other technician related duties as delegated by the Technical Service Manager.

You should have an SVQ3, HNC or equivalent in a relevant discipline along with the ability to communicate with and motivate others by demonstration of team leadership qualities. Extended experience of working in an educational environment is essential as is the ability to organise work of others. Ideally you will have previous supervisory experience, knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, the ability to train others and have an interest in Technology relevant to Education, including trends and curricular developments on an on-going basis.

We have created a new role of Senior Development Co-ordinator to support the delivery of the council’s new supply / regeneration programmes by providing specialist advice on all design related activities from RIBA Stage 0-4/6, including strategic site appraisal, development of Client brief, managing stakeholder requirements, risk management and removing any barriers to delivery.

You will play a key role within the New Supply team to ensure it delivers a high quality service and be involved in responding efficiently to challenges and successfully delivering high capital value development projects in line with the council’s financial and project management governance. Projects are expected to comply with any external funding conditions and within agreed timelines. You will manage a range of professional/technical staff and maximise the application of resources to support the delivery of the New Supply housing regeneration programme.

You will engage and build collaborative relationships with a range of stakeholders and strategic partners across the Council including Elected Members and externally with strategic partners, government departments, developers, agencies, community groups and funders.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Business Gateway Lanarkshire Team.

Reporting directly to the Enterprise Development Manager (Business Gateway), the Senior Business Adviser role will have responsibility for delivering Business Gateway services throughout the Lanarkshire area and on behalf of North and South Lanarkshire Council.

The Senior Business Adviser will be responsible for growing and servicing a portfolio of high growth start-up, existing business clients, more complex start-up and non-growth business cases, and will mentor and support Business Advisers to develop their skills and expertise. You should have the Degree or Diploma in Town Planning, be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute with considerable relevant post-qualification experience and knowledge of forthcoming planning developments/initiatives.

A leadership or management qualification and experience of supervising staff is desirable.

Due to the geographical spread of work, you should be able to travel throughout North Lanarkshire and surrounding areas.

You will be joining a dynamic team, working a hybrid model of home-working and office-based within Civic Centre, Motherwell with the opportunity to play a critical role in helping the Council achieve its objectives as set out in the Plan for North Lanarkshire and its newly refreshed Programme of Work.

This organisation are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in the industry to join their expanding Glasgow office. This company has a low staff turnover rate and provides you with the opportunity to work on interesting and challenging, and high-end multi-million pound projects.

Your new role + What you'll need to succeed

• You will be joining the practice as a senior engineer. You will have previous working experience within the UK/Ireland at another building services consultancy.
• Lead the delivery of mechanical services scope of work across multiple projects, as part of a world-class Building Services design team.
• Carry out any or all stages of mechanical design from concept to completion as required by the project.
• Lead the preparation of enquiries for potential major projects.
• Lead an M&E design team where required.
• Report on project performance to principal engineer.
• Carry out technical design reviews/critiques of projects in progress.
• Support the design planning, resourcing and fee planning of specific project teams
• Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
• Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
