This is a non-deanery post, so is not recognised for specialty training, but is intended to fill a vacancy within the NNUH T&O Trainee rota. Consequently, this post is ideal for those who are committed to a career in Trauma & Orthopaedics, and are looking for ST6-8 level experience. With experience inall specialties in Trauma and Orthopaedics, it would suit a candidate looking for this experience specifically for their training requirements. You would be offered similar training opportunities to the specialty trainees, including access to regional teaching and participation in local audit and research opportunities.

The unit admits large numbers of elective and emergency patients per day and thus will offer you a wealth of experience and training in all aspects of Trauma & Orthopaedics, particularly general Orthopaedic trauma, upper limb and paediatric orthopaedics. You will work closely with our senior clinical teams and benefit from their experience and knowledge allowing you to expand your own clinical experience every day, with opportunities to bolster your portfolio for the next round of the national selection process.



In general, the appointed individuals will be expected to work in fracture and elective clinics, trauma and elective operating lists and care for patients on the ward (working effectively with junior members of the team such as Core and Foundation trainees, alongside other HCPs, such as Specialist Nurse Practitioners).

Whilst this post is not recognised for training nor Deanery approved, an Educational Supervisor will be allocated to the fellow.

The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals.

All employees, including the appointee, will be expected to be involved in implementing the Trust’s Clinical Governance programme. This includes active participation in clinical audit, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support our innovative team in the next phase of its development. We are looking for Senior Assistant Practitioners – Mental Health (band 5) to join our BANK. To help support the substantive team, with the day-to-day advice and signposting of referrals made to the service and the increased volume of referrals we are receiving.

The Advice, Support and Access service launched 6 months ago and provides a single point of referral for mental health support for the Norfolk and Waveney region for children and young people aged 0 up to 25 years.

The Mental Health access team works within the wider offer of the Just One Number service, a single point of access for the Health Child Service and the Speech and Language Therapy, this provides us with a huge array of expertise and a proven track record of providing excellent and timely interventions, our work is underpinned by Just One Norfolk web site, our evidence based digital support and resources.

We are looking to cover 8am until 6pm (shifts are 8am-4pm and 10am-6pm) Monday to Friday, shifts will be allocated as the demand of service dictates.



Our aim is to find the right support, the right resources and the right services for our young people.

This offers the right candidate an opportunity to hone skills in the triage of mental health referrals, explore and link with other statutory and non-statutory services, help to identify advice and guidance for young people and their parents and work with a dedicated dynamic and supportive team. What you’ll be doing

You’ll have extensive training to know the products inside out, so you can be confident in designing suitable conservatory plans and selling them to customers – your enthusiasm and creativity will capture the customer to ensure the deal is sealed!

Your role will involve:

Following up our warm sales leads either visiting customers at their homes and utilising our new remote selling framework

Using our internal systems to design living spaces that excite and persuade the customer

Giving persuasive sales pitches to convert quotes to sales

Educating customers about all of the product ranges and services offered

What we’re looking for:

You’ll need to be self-motivated, friendly, and confident communicating with a variety of customers. And you’ll need to be:

To have an up to date knowledge of the multidisciplinary management of the patients and discharge plan of all patients referred on D2A P1-3 , alongside complex case support . Expectation is to have ability to manage more complex discharge cases with support of Complex Discharge Nurses. To have a good understanding of Discharge to assess, Home first and Discharge Pathways 1-3, as identified in the hospital discharge and community support guidance. To have an understanding of clinical conditions and terminology To independently gather and collate information from the medical notes, patients and multi-disciplinary team colleagues to enable a clear plan for discharge to be followed from point of admission, gathering evidence to support a safe and timely discharge. To provide updates, co-ordinate discharges and provide administrative support to the multi-disciplinary team within the hospital and system partners to improve joint working practices leading to more effective patient care and timely discharges. To ensure ward view, OPTICA and handover remain up to date with any discharge progress. To assist in ensuring that all patients have an accurate EDD identifying if they meet Criteria to Reside and reason for delayed discharge reason in line with National Discharge policy. Using the medical notes and discharge plan and the expected date of discharge, consider how the process of care will be integrated for each individual patient and how a reduction in length of stay can be achieved. Your new role
You will be joining a prestigious research group working with some of the leading scientists in the genetics field carrying out research work to identify new approaches to tackle cancer.
Main responsibilities will include:

• Lead innovative research in molecular biology to uncover fundamental mechanisms related to genetic and protein functions in cancer.
• Investigate interactions between modified bases and proteins, focusing on their impact on genome functions like transcription and chromatin organisation.
• Develop new techniques to study the dynamics of modified bases and their binding proteins, utilising chemical and genetic approaches.
• Analyse genetic/genomic and other omics data sets to provide insights and use these to design future experiments.
• Explore genetic targets for synthetic lethality opportunities in cancer.
• Manage your own research projects while collaborating with others, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and resource management.
• Share your findings through presentations and publications, and help to mentor PhD students.

What you'll need to succeed
As well as strong communication and organisational skills, you should have:

• A PhD (or be nearing completion) in molecular biology, biochemistry, cancer genomics, or related fields, or significant equivalent experience
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA analysis, PCR, protein analysis, and western blotting.
• Advanced cloning skills, with experience in genetic engineering, vector construction, and CRISPR/Cas9 systems.
• Expertise in recombinant protein design and expression, utilising systems like E. coli, along with purification methods such as FPLC and mass spectrometry.
• Familiarity with genomic technologies like ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, and single-cell methods, preferably within oncology research, though this is not essential.

It would be an advantage to have good data analysis skills and experience using programming / scripting languages such as Python and/or R, along with tools like MATLAB and Bioconductor, however training can be provided.
