Education Responsibility Assist the ward manager/PDN in the setting of evidence based clinical practice standards, guidelines and protocols and support the development of multidisciplinary clinical audit at unit level. Support and facilitate all staff in keeping up to date with changes in nursing practice, technology, research and health care. Maintain a high level of current research awareness and developments in neonatal nursing and area of special interest. Plan, co-ordinate and evaluate mentorship, preceptorship programmes. Supervise and facilitate appropriate mentorship of students in the area. Assist in the maintenance of accurate statistics.

To undertake the most complex assessments and reviews, ensuring this is delivered through the Care Act 2014 eligibility framework. To ensure that commissioned and non-commissioned services allow choice to service users and their carers, promote community-based support and make best use of preventative and universal services. To be a champion of best practice in undertaking carers assessments and supporting the Trusts Carer Pathway. To be skilled in partnership working and identify, develop and facilitate a wide range of recovery focused community services, and ensure that colleagues within the locality are aware of developments in these and best practice.
