What you'll do...
The Edge Ingress Security team is responsible for defending our eCommerce and corporate web properties from web-based attacks, DDoS attacks, unwanted scripted traffic, and fraudulent behavior.
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build end to end data infrastructure, pipeline, and machine learning models to detect and mitigate anomalous and fraudulent risks to Walmart web properties.

What you'll do:
Your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
- Assemble large, complex data sets
- Analyze large volumes of data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies indicative of fraudulent behavior. Derive data-driven insights to improve anomaly detection strategies.
- Build infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ technologies
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
- Design, develop and deploy custom data models and algorithms to surface anomalous behaviors
- Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy
What you'll bring:
- Have a passion for data with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
- Well versed with Spark, Hadoop, Cloud, Python/Scala and Java, Streaming, Kafka.
- Proven track record of at least one programming language and one Database language
- Proficient in one of cloud computing platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure)
- Experienced in data modeling & data migration protocols
- Experience with data warehousing (e.g. Databricks)
- Experience with machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques, with a focus on their use for anomaly detection
- A strong sense of accountability and self-motivation
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
- Web application and cyber security domain knowledge is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field plus 3 years' experience in data science, data engineering, software engineering, or related domain.
