Play Leader
Blacon Adventure Playground, Chester

We have an opportunity for two experienced Play Leaders to join our team at the Blacon Adventure Playground in Chester. In this role you will plan and deliver safe, creative and appropriate play activities for children and young people who visit the Blacon Adventure Playground, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and protocols.
The role of Play Leader will include:
- Promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people by observing the relevant policies and procedures to keep children safe from harm, report any safeguarding concerns in the required way
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with children, young people and their parents/carers within appropriate professional boundaries
- Ensure that the health and safety policy and procedures are implemented and report all incidents and accidents in the required way
- Ensure materials and equipment are prepared and maintained in good condition to ensure they are fit for purpose and safe to use, reporting faults, hazards and inappropriate practice promptly to ensure a safe environment
Skills and experiences:
- Level 2 qualification in Playwork
- Level 2 qualification in Safeguarding
- Proven experience of working with children and young people in a play or child care setting
- Some experience in planning play activities
- Practical understanding of good play work practice and principles
- Practical understanding of safeguarding principles and their application
- Practical knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
- Experience of developing and managing multi agency projects
- Awareness and commitment to equality of opportunity and a positive approach to inclusive practice
