Military Exercise Lessons Learned Manager
Key Role:
Execute a lessons program that captures best practices and areas for improvement from exercises and real-world operations. Assist with the development of Exercise After Action Reports (AAR) and the planning, coordination, and execution of After-Action conferences, including documenting discussions, preparing minutes, and loading resulting tasks into the Command tasking system of record. Manage the Lessons Learned portal, provide training to Command Staff on use of the Lessons Learned portal, ensure client lessons learned program is compliant, and maintain coordination with supported combatant command (CCMD) Lessons Learned offices. Provide Lessons Learned trend analysis reports and other tailored analytical reports as tasked by the client. Participate in command operational planning groups formed to support crisis action planning and provide relevant lessons learned and best practices from previous operations and exercises. Participate in Command Operational Assessment working groups and reviews to ensure Lessons Learned and best practices are leveraged and included accordingly. Participate in command exercise planning groups by ensuring evaluation plans are consistent with the Command lessons learned program and by providing lessons learned exercise summaries from all supported exercises.
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with supporting cryptologic or cyberspace missions
Experience with designing, developing, executing, and evaluating military training, exercises, or wargames
Experience with identifying, recording, and incorporating lessons learned and best practices
Ability to input and maintain information in formal systems of record accurately
TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with mission support as a language or signals analyst as it relates to acquiring, identifying, processing, and reporting on electromagnetic emissions
Knowledge of Cyber Mission Teams (CMTs)
Knowledge of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle and Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS)
Ability to work independently with some guidance
Ability to use Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to think creatively and communicate clearly, including structured narratives and visual graphics
Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,100.00 to $119,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
