BACKGROUND TO THE POST

We are now seeking a motivated and organised individual who can liaise with both employers and learners to assess their competencies within the workplace. This post will be based at our Rugby College Site.
The department provides training and assessment for apprenticeships, workplace assessments, for industry related qualifications and Apprenticeship Standards.

The post holder will join the existing Motor Vehicle and Land Based Engineering team and to work with the Head of Work Based Learning to provide employers with the necessary support to employ apprentices, and to continue to support the apprentices in the work placements. To carry out Health and Safety checks and Risk Assessments. To visit students and Apprentices in work settings to carry out reviews, Assess, Train and offer support, to liaise with Employers. To provide a point of contact for employers and other agencies as necessary. To be responsible for producing and updating data relating to Work Based Learning and Apprenticeships, and for carrying out any necessary administrative tasks related to their caseload of employers and apprentices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

✓ Assist, guide and support students following their initial enquiry and interview to choose the right course of study.
✓ Assist, guide and support employers to access appropriate recruitment options and funding streams for their respective training needs, where appropriate; including the Apprenticeship Service, Recruit an Apprentice Service.
✓ Work with relevant parties to ensure students are placed in a safe, suitable and healthy environment with appropriate access to work based training.
✓ Work with support departments and Head of WBL to ensure that all existing and new programmes, within the vocational area are marketed and promoted in the best interests of the College.
✓ Carry out formal verification and moderation of assessments.
✓ To improve the quality of provision including involvement with internal and external verification procedures, annual review, self-assessment, Quality Improvement Plans and provision of data as necessary.
✓ Carry out formal progress reviews in a timely manner with Apprentices and their employers.
✓ Maintain and update all relevant documentation to a high standard in accordance with the requirements of the College, Awarding organisations, Funding Rules and relevant external agencies.

In order to support during busy exam periods, you may be asked to undertake exam invigilator duties. The College will provide training.

BACKGROUND TO THE POST

The Lead WBL Manager for WBL Programmes will support the Head of Department for Work Based Learning in Engineering in the leadership and management of the Engineering Apprenticeship Work Based Learning area. With direct accountability for the success and positive progression of the student cohort under the leadership of the Director of Engineering Apprenticeships and Jaguar Land Rover Programmes.
The post holder will be supporting the Head of Work Based Learning in responsibility for curriculum, resource & financial management, and quality assurance.

Through the effective deployment of resources and College systems and procedures, the post holder will ensure that each student has access to and receives an outstanding experience including high quality teaching, learning and assessment that will ensure our students develop the employability skills to gain a competitive advantage as they progress towards and along their chosen careers.
Whilst working within the core values and through continuous improvement, the post holder will develop the WBL area to meet or exceed the College’s KPIs.

An excellent opportunity has become available for a skilled, compassionate and person centred Registered Manager to join a well-established learning disabilities charity and oversee high quality care and support and the day to day management of their Supported Living services in Rugby, North Warwickshire.

The services are made up of 3 Supported Living settings, all in proximity with minimal travel required.

Managing a professional and settled team, including deputies and team leaders, you will oversee support packages that ensure access to networks of support, families, friends, local communities and professionals.

This is a full-time role where you will provide direct day to day leadership to a team consisting of a Deputy Managers, Team Leaders, Senior Support Workers and Support Workers. You will coach the team to grow and develop, whilst promoting the supported living service in line with the company's vision, business aims and objectives.

You will report directly to the Operations Manager. This is an exciting opportunity and you will be involved with all aspects of the management of the service, including recruitment, assessments, support planning and quality compliance. You will have full support of members of the operational team and senior leadership team.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience of managing a Supported Living service as a Registered Manager/Manager level, or as an experienced Deputy Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career
• Previous experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and additional support needs
• To be able to work flexibly as this role will include some shift work, weekends and evenings when required
• A car driver with a current full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (desirable)
• Qualified to Level 5 Diploma/NVQ Health & Social Care/Management or equivalent (or prepared to work towards)
