About the Role

Base location: Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire

Salary: £28,072 to £32,605 plus overtime

What is the Role?

You'll be working as part of a team carrying out, maintenance and construction works on our overhead electricity network, installing poles and pole mounted equipment. This is a physically demanding role which will involve you working outdoors and on public highways, farms and wilderness areas, where you'll also hold responsibility for operating a HIAB and a Unimog mounted crane.

What do I need?

- To be successful in this role you'll preferably have experience operating a lorry mounted loader (HIAB), have Slinger / Signaller experience.

- A HGV class 2 license is required for this role.

- Safety is our number one priority and you must be confident to act on your own initiative and as part of a team, completing on site risk assessments and lifting plans.

- Finally, flexibility will be required for this role, as you may be required to form part of a call out rota to attend to emergencies outside of normal working hours as required.

This position may perform all or some of the following duties as assigned:
Food/Beverage Service Facilities: Carries supplies and equipment, such as fruits, glasses, lines, and flatware from storage areas to the bar or dining area. Fills ice bins and crushes ice. Cleans equipment in kitchen and dining area. Washes dishes, pots, pans, coffee urns, glasses, and flatware. Operates a mechanical dishwasher, washing large items by hand. Using a full range of quantity cooking procedures from common or frequently used to new or difficult recipes, prepares a variety of meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces and gravies. On a daily basis, prepares four or more menu items for one meal, which involves planning and coordinating a variety of steps to ensure that all items are ready for serving at the same time. In addition, may prepare menu items using specials or difficult recipes involving many steps, ingredients or long preparation time in preparation of catered or special events.
Estimates consumption of food items and places orders for food and other operating supplies. Ensures proper receipt and storage of inventory. May be asked in conjunction with the manager to cost and price menus.
Responsible for the proper storage, refrigeration and labelling of food in accordance with sanitation regulations at all times. Responsible for ensuring the kitchen area, equipment and food preparation areas at cleaned and maintained in accordance with sanitation regulations at all times. Ensures trash is removed continually as needed. This position may perform all or some of the following duties as assigned: Greets customers, rings up sales for merchandise, answers phone and checks ID cards to ensure only authorized patrons utilize the program. Answers questions in regards to hours of operation, upcoming events, special events, merchandise availability and cost. Operates a cash register, ringing sales and providing correct change to the customer. At end of shift, completes the Daily Activity Report (DAR), ensures all cash handling/reporting/security requirements are met, verifies the amount of money collected and drops the cashier bag into the drop safe.

Pool and/or Waterfront Lifeguard duties comprise 60% of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to:

• Performs all pool and/or waterfront lifeguard responsibilities (e.g., supervising swimmers/patrons and their activities, monitoring all natural water activities, applying first aid, enforcing safety rules, reporting safety hazards to supervisor, performing water rescues as necessary, etc.).
• Observes conditions of area assigned (e.g., possible hazards, water/chemical conditions, wind and weather, etc.) to ensure a safe environment, removing hazardous materials when necessary (e.g.. floating debris, glass, etc.).

• Conducts and documents pool chemical testing results. Checks chlorine and pH levels on a scheduled basis; notifies Certified Pool Operator or supervisor of chemical imbalances; adjusts chemicals as directed.
• Documents marine life, water conditions and weather conditions.

General duties comprise 40% of incumbent's time and include but are not limited to:

• Administers aquatic assessment testing and certification in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD). Department of the Navy (DON) and CNIC policy.
• Provides introductory equipment orientations, as needed.
• Checks identification cards for authorized patrons and collects usage fees, if applicable.
• Serves as the primary liaison between the activity, security, medical departments, and Aquatics Coordinator during emergency situations.

The MPGS provides professional soldiers to meet armed security requirements at Royal Navy, Army, RAF and other MOD bases across the UK Mainland. Our primary role is to counter the terrorist threat posed to military bases within the UK

Our duties include:

Security incident management - Such as suspicious packages, bomb threats, protests, etc.

Patrolling site perimeters - Taking necessary action to preserve perimeter security.

Controlling entry and exit - Managing control room and gate operations and ensuring all visitors are dealt with efficiently.
