We are looking for an excellent and enthusiastic IAG Advisers to work within our Learner Experience team.

The role involves supporting our students at Lewisham College with their employability skills such as CV writing, job applications and interview preparation as well as providing excellent advice around job opportunities, careers, next steps, apprenticeships and courses.

You will also be creating and displaying information materials in printed and digital formats. The postholder will provide support with organising and evaluating events and activities for students to support their employability, confidence, and skills development.

You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience of working with people in support or guidance capacity and be very organised with good attention to detail.

Good digital skills are required, and you should have experience of working MS Office software such as Outlook, Excel, Word.

You will need to be a positive and resilient person as you will be working in a very busy department, interacting and supporting students.

Experience of delivering 1-1 support sessions and group presentations would be an advantage in this role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated operational manager to join our busy gynaecology team as a Service Delivery Manager.

The post holder will be joining a diverse multipdisciplinary team of clinicians and operational collegues.

The successful candidate will take a leading role in the day-to-day management of the clinics, including the new Single Point of Access, ensuring there are robust processes in place that enable clinic slots to be booked to optimum utilisation so that there are minimal DNA’s and cancellations and the correct patients are booked into each clinic.

The post holder will work closely with operational and clinical leads from the gynecological team, and will play a key part in supporting these teams to embed improved clinical pathways and service redesign initiatives in line with their clinical strategy.
You will be responsible for ensuring there are clear and transparent measures of success within the team, and for developing lines of communication both within the team and out into the organization that support effective dissemination of information and escalation.
You will line manage a Women’s Health Hub administrator, holding them accountable for meeting personal objectives and local and national targets, as well as supporting and nurturing them to develop their capabilities.

Barts Health NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our rotation at Whipps Cross Hospital (starting in the community).

This band 6 rotation covers the following specialities:
• Waltham Forest Community, supporting patients at home or in care home settings, as well as outpatients. You will be based at Whipps Cross Hospital.
• Integrated Stroke pathway, covering inpatients stroke unit and supporting patients on discharge home into the community
• Inpatient acute wardsincluding ICU

All applicants should be a qualified SLT, who are independent in the assessment and management of patients with dysphagia and communication impairment.

This rotation provides an excellent opportunity for existing band 6s’s or experienced band 5s wanting to take on increased responsibility, and to consolidate their knowledge and skills in managing more complex patients with acquired swallowing and communication impairment across a range of inpatient and community settings, within a friendly and supportive team.

There will also be opportunities to develop competencies in videofluoroscopy, tracheostomy, FEES and leadership and management skills e.g. supervising band 5 SLTs and students.

Regular supervision and in-house training will be provided to the successful applicant, which includes joint assessments and formal protected1:1 supervision. There are also excellent CPD opportunities within the SLT service and as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.

This post is part of Barts Health SLT Service. The therapist will work as a band 6 SLT within a set cog rotation across the adult SLT Acute, Waltham Forest Community SLT team and the Stroke pathway (inpatient/ community) at Whipps Cross University Hospital.

The post holder will be part of a team providing specialist assessment and treatment to adults in the inpatient and community settings, with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties . The post holder will provide intervention both uni-disciplinary and as part of a multi-professional team.

The post holder will work as part of the wider therapy team and be involved with service developments along designated clinical pathways. The post holder may be required to supervise band 5 SLT’s and band 3 staff if appropriate, and will be expected to support student speech and language therapists on their placements. The post holder will access support and supervision from a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and Clinical Lead SLT.

Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Urological Surgeon based on the Newham and Whipps cross sites for Barts Health. We are looking for a Consultant Urological Surgeon to help with the overall workload of the Urology department. This post is to support the diagnostic and core urology work in the department.

Key duties will be supervising and running operating lists, acute and specialist clinics, diagnostics, on call cover, ward rounds, and care for patients on wards in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including ward and specialist nursing teams. The unit is very active in research, education and audit and the post holder will be expected to fully participate in all the above activities.

You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council with a license to practise.

In-patient activity is based on the Surgical Unit with access to Paediatric day and in-patient beds as necessary. Day Care activity is centered on the in main theatres with patients housed Forest Ward pre and post operatively

Clinical Governance



The appointee will be required to participate in all clinical governance activities related to the Urology service. This will include contributing to: -


• clinical audit
• clinical risk activities
• clinical incident reporting
• responding to complaints within the Trust’s expected timescale
• participating in the development of the involvement of users in planning and monitoring access to and standards of the service

The post holder is clinically responsible to the Clinical Director of the specialty you are applying for in the Operations Directorate and managerially accountable to the Chief Operating Officer for the trust. The Brent Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia Centre provides specialist community services to children and adults with sickle cell disease and thalassaemia. It was the first centre of its kind to be set up in the United Kingdom, over 40 years ago. As part of a Pan-London Sickle Cell Improvement Programme, NHS England has provided funding to improve Sickle Cell Community Services in North West London. LNWH are recruiting to 2 new posts, including Community Clinical Nurse Specialist - Haemoglobinopathies. The service will provide nursing care to adults with Sickle Cell in the boroughs of Brent and Harrow.

We are seeking an experienced nurse with great clinical skills from either acute or community settings. Training and supervision will be provided to ensure the knowledge and skills to meet the demands of the role. The service will work closely with the wider community haemoglobinopathy teams, including Central London Community Health Trust and the Haemoglobinopathy Co-ordinating Centre at Imperial NHS Trust to provide an integrated service across NWL ICB.

You will work as part of a team of nurses, working across the 2 boroughs, helping to develop the service, building strong connections in the neighbouring boroughs within the project, and working together as a team in offering clinical support to people with haemoglobinopathy conditions at different stages of their lives, from antenatal screening, newborn screening, childhood, through to adults living with a long-term chronic condition. You will have a clinical caseload and have opportunities to continue to develop your own clinical skills.

Your will be based at the Brent Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Centre, Central Middlesex Hospital. Patients will be supported by the team at Imperial NHS Trust sites of Hammersmith and St. Marys Hospitals, and the team will provide nursing support in patient homes and venues local to their homes across the 2 boroughs.

Job Summary


This is a new post to support the delivery of NHS England Pan-London Sickle Cell Improvement Programme, through West London ICB with investment into improving haemoglobinopathy services in primary and secondary care at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The post is afixed term contract for 24 months.

Provide specialist nursing and support services for adults with sickle cell, thalassaemia and other haemoglobinopathies in community care settings. Assist the Nurse Consultant for Haemoglobinopathies and Community Clinical Nurse Specialist Team Leader - Haemoglobinopathies in reviewing, formulating and implementing strategies to meet service demands, manage appropriate levels of nursing and other staff, if appropriate.



Maintain professional links with health and allied professionals working in the acute and community sector and with statutory and voluntary agencies. Work within the remit of the NMC code of professional conduct.

• Provision of specialist, high quality, expert nursing care and support for patients and their families / carers with haemoglobinopathies trait/disease.
• Deliver evidence based individualised patient care according to patient’s changing health care needs.
• To work autonomously and seek collaborative relationships with others across and within professional boundaries.
• To provide expert knowledge and advice in own specialist area, ensuring maintenance of clinical excellence underpinned by evidence-based practice.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team and management team to ensure that the service complies with the national standards for safety, quality and ensure the service complies with the key performance indicators aligned with the NHS England Sickle Cell Improvement Programme.



Main Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities
1. Act as a clinical expert within your sphere of work.
2. Demonstrates an understanding of haemoglobinopathies, the implications of living with a chronic illness and its impact on individuals, families and wider the community.
3. Develop clinical nursing competencies within your expert sphere encouraging the development of new and novel roles within your service.
4. Demonstrate expert knowledge being visible, accessible and using advanced clinical skills within the workplace as appropriate.
5. Carry a clinical case load across primary care settings, provide support for secondary care colleagues.
6. To establish a partnership approach to care, empowering and educating adults, their carers and their families to actively participate in delivery of care – demonstrating, educating, instructing and supervising them in nursing procedures, which may be delegated to within community and hospital setting as required.
7. Provide expert advice on issues related to the speciality internally and external to the organisation.
8. Use knowledge and skills to advise adults, carers and their families on symptom management and care.
9. To support the transition of adolescents to the adult services within the Trust.
10. Liaise with district/ community nurses, and other members of primary healthcare team to ensure ongoing support of the patient, carers and family.
11. Supervise and ensure a consistent approach to nursing across all areas covered, through collaborative working and the development of shared procedures and guidelines, supervising the auditing of practise and development of action plans.
12. To be responsible for the assessment, escalation and management of risk in accordance with the Trust’s Risk Management policy using principles of learning organisation.
13. Keep informed of national and Trust policies, especially those affecting service delivery and patient care.
14. Provide clinical cover when required within the specialist services.





Managerial / Leadership
1. Provide support for Community Clinical Nurse Specialist Team Leader Haemoglobinopathies as required.
2. Participate in preparation and delivery of key performance indicators linked to the NHS England Pan-London Sickle Cell Improvement Programme.

4. Acts as a role model demonstrating high standards of care and providing clinical leadership to others.

7. Ensure that all adult haemoglobinopathy activity is recorded on Trust electronic record system to assure contemporaneous record keeping. Ensure accurate data quality data accreditation standards are maintained when inputting data on IT systems.

9. Actively participates in multi-professional meetings, acting as the patient advocate and representing nursing and patient views.
10. Work closely with the other Clinical Nurse Specialists within the Haemoglobinopathy Nursing Team and provide cross cover if /when necessary.
11. Ensure work links to the goals and objectives of the haemoglobinopathy service and the wider Trust nursing agenda through representation on committees / working groups as appropriate.
12. Attends and participates in organising local, national and international networks and forums relating to sickle cell, thalassaemia and related conditions to support best practice within the service and contribute to the development of service strategy.
