Summary: The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as the early childhood education specialist or youth development specialist for child and youth programs including child development centers, family child care, school-age, youth programs, and unique child care programs. To train program staff, volunteers, contractors, family child care providers, administrative, and food service staff.

Duties:

• Oversees curricula for child development centers, family child care programs, school-age, youth programs and other unique children's programs.
• Creates a work environment that supports ongoing professional development and continuous quality improvement through observation, coaching, mentoring, collaborative learning, training and reflective practice.
• Supports children who may have special needs or complex behaviors.
• Develops plans to improve overall operations, correct identified deficiencies, and enhance developmental programs and services.
• Represents all programs with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Functions as a professional and technical advisor to clinical staff, other allied healthcare professionals, program directors and managers throughout the medical center/facility.
• Oversight over HR staffing, employee relations and labor relations in Food Service Operations.
• Exercises a full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in planning, directing, and assessing work of subordinate staff.
• Establishes a training plan for the food operations section.
• Develops and leads food operations.
• Establishes strategic goals and ensures priorities align with the strategic plan of the NFS department, VISN and national programs.
• Leads the continuous quality improvement effort in Food Service Operations.
• Identify and prioritizes problems, sets long and short-term goals, develop action plans and analyze data to evaluate progress to improve outcomes.
• Develop and update policies and procedures and establish and oversee a system for regulatory compliance. Coordinate food service operation policies and procedures with clinical nutrition management, nursing and other services, as applicable.
• Manage the budget and other resources, anticipating future trends and inflation, new service opportunities, recommendations for growth, efficiencies and strategic efforts are factored into resource requests and brought to the Chief.
• Direct staff in management of contracts, subsistence, supply purchasing for NFS and submits reports to the NFS Chief.
• Solicits support and/or negotiates with facility managers to influence decisions to support food operations section success.
• Works closely with the Supervisory Dietitians to support the department, cover the work within NFS and execute the activities of the department.

• Replenish stock in display cases and rotates product to ensure wholesomeness.

Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to provide appropriate, specialized developmental care, and instruction for children in the Youth Programs (YP). In addition, performs basic oversight and supervision for designated classrooms for ages 6 years through 18 years. The incumbent will assist with the Kindergarten program. Incumbent may be designated as building supervisor as needed, whenever the Youth Programs (YP) Director or assistant Youth Programs Director is not physically in the facility.

Duties:

• Designs, implements, and reviews activity plans.
• Observes and evaluates each youth's health and development and reports on and maintains records of observations.

This is a temporary role until the end of December.

Full and part-time shifts are available.

The rate of pay is:
- Monday to Friday: £12 per hour.
- Saturday: £15 per hour.
- Sunday and overtime: £18 per hour.

A £150 Amazon voucher will be given to workers with 100% attendance during peak weeks & a double overtime rate will apply on 5 specific weeks in November - December.

The hours of work available are:
- 06:00am to 14:00pm
- 06:00am to 16:00pm
- 08:00am to 18:00pm
- 14:00pm to 22:00pm
