The work requires a comprehensive knowledge of the ATC field and familiarization with the many integral components of the industry which comprise the National Airspace System. Specialists must have the ability to apply this knowledge to the analysis. evaluation and development of new methods, studies, approaches, and procedures. The Staff Support Specialist must be knowledgeable of agency wide programs, facility goals and objectives. Must be able to communicate clearly and tailor their message to the target audience. While not required, hardware/software experience is desirable. Some travel will be required.

Education provides all cadets with realistic leadership and character development experience in a mentally and physically challenging environment. Prepares and motivates cadets for a lifetime of service through physical education, fitness training and testing, and intramural and intercollegiate athletic competition. Generates a major portion of revenue necessary to operate a multi-million-dollar athletic program. Promotes Academy to the nation through athletics.

Instructs cadets in undergraduate Physical Education (PE) courses. Effectively instructs undergraduate Physical Education courses. Prepares course materials according to published course descriptions and delivers well-organized instruction to facilitate student learning. Counsels and evaluates assigned cadets as appropriate. Effectively provides student assessment and motivation. Provides extra instruction outside normal class and practice hours for cadets who require or request it. Manages multiple all facets of the intercollegiate women's soccer program. Effectively instructs cadets in the sport of soccer and related strength and conditioning programs. Effectively administers organizational aspects of the intercollegiate women's soccer program, in include; but not limited to: lesson planning, scheduling, budgeting, recruitment of cadet-candidates, maintenance of supply and equipment accounts and safety of athletic facilities and physical training. Manages training programs in full compliance with the rules, regulations and bylaws of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Mountain West Conference (MWC) or other applicable conference affiliation and the U.S. Air Force Academy. Provides guidance to assistant coaches to ensure the professional conduct and performance of program's staff.
