We seek an experienced Electrical Technician based at our water production sites in East Thames Valley (Newbury or Reading).
The overall responsibility of this role is to ensure that all equipment at our water production sites is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair electrical equipment.

Follow robust planned maintenance as well as getting involved in minor installation projects, electrical fault finding and emergency breakdown repairs to ensure our plant operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. As well as provide technical advice, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.

- Base Location – either at Speen WTW in Newbury (RG14 1RT) or Fobney WTW Reading. (RG2 0SF)
- 38 hours per week Monday-Friday.07:30 -15:30 plus the inclusion onto a standby rota for which you will receive additional payment.
- All PPE, Tools plus the provision of a Van when on duty and call.

What you’ll be doing as the Electrical Technician

- Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process.
- This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents.
- You will be expected to provide technical advice, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
- Examples of equipment that you will be working on will be motors, gearboxes, screw /chain conveyors & centrifuges, various pumps, and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSD, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling and dosing equipment.
- Participate in a stand-by rota following the relevant training.
- Complete License to operate. (Operate sites and learn the water treatment processes).

What you should bring to the role

- 18th Edition electrical City and Guilds certification is crucial.
- Ideally an apprenticeship with significant experience in electrical systems working in a ‘true multi-skilled capacity'.
- NVQ or City & Guilds level 3 in mechanical engineering would also be ideal but not essential.
- Experience in inspecting, maintaining, fault diagnosis, testing, installation, modifying or repairing Electrical plant equipment.
- Ideally experience maintaining large pumps, actuated valves, electronic control systems such as VSD and 3-phase electrical switchgear is essential.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues relevant to the industry would benefit this role.
- The work will require physical fitness.
- You will need the ability to work in confined spaces and will require the completion of appropriate training for this.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.

Mary Hare is a residential special school for deaf children and young people aged between 5 to 19.

Set in beautiful surroundings on a country estate just outside Newbury the boarding (residential care) houses are designed specifically for each age range and provide a home from home for all children who board during term times. Mary Hare is an oral environment, and our children and young people thrive on being able to use their voices.

Are you someone who has experience working in residential childcare in a supervisory or Shift Leader role?

What we need from you

You have been in a position of supervisory or shift leadership and can demonstrate your leadership style and approach to shift management.
You have a Diploma Level 3 in children and young people.
You can confidently communicate with children, parents, colleagues and professionals.
You can actively listen to others.
The ability to work individually and as part of a team.
A calm and consistent approach.
Good written and IT skills.

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Registered Mental Health Nurse to work in an exceptional mental health hospital based in the Newbury, Berkshire area. You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers

This hospital offers inpatient care for those who require mental health rehabilitation to support them in increasing their recovery pathway and independence

**To be considered for this position you must be qualified as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a current active NMC Pin**

As a Nurse your key duties include:
• Providing leadership and support for support staff and act as a champion for residents’ safety and dignity
• Maintaining skills and knowledge and ensure that care is delivered according to latest guidelines and best practice evidence available
• Ensuring the ongoing safety of service users, residents, staff and visitors through systematic assessment, monitoring and reviewing processes
• Ensuring that clear and accurate records and communication systems relating to clinical and care delivery are maintained and effectively used
• Acting as a role model for good clinical and care governance practice

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
• Flexible, enthusiastic and self motivated attitude
• An interest in working within a modern, forward thinking and effective specialist service
• Strong sense of responsibility and accountability including being reliable
• Previous experience in Adult Mental Health Services
• Experience in rehabilitation and recovery model will be an advantage
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
• Pro-active, therapeutic and recovery approach to care management
• An ability to prioritise own workload within established procedures
• Pro-active approach to mentoring, influencing and supervising Junior Staff
