The Hinkley Point C (HPC) Commissioning Team is expanding in preparation for the commissioning of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the first nuclear power station to be built in a generation.
In this role, you will be working in a diverse environment and contribute your knowledge and skills to oversee others in the preparation and execution of commissioning activities and work collaboratively with other areas, teams, and programmes.

You will collaborate closely with the Commissioning Delivery Team and other areas of the project including technical and oversight functions. Together, you will develop a comprehensive set of controls which will form an integral part of the HPC Commissioning Arrangements. Building strong collaborative relationships with the safety case team, contractors, the HPC project delivery team, site engineering, and the plant operational organisation will be crucial in ensuring well-defined and controlled interfaces with the commissioning process.

What you’ll be doing


- Develop commissioning documentation relating to the governance and oversight of commissioning testing and system validation activities.
- Contribute to the smooth running of project through the development and oversight of the governance processes required to enable the safe and controlled progress of commissioning.
- Assist in the detailed planning of commissioning authority activities including commissioning phases.
- Assist in the smooth running of the authorisation of site commissioning activities including oversight of the commissioning organisation to achieve successful and safe commissioning of HPC systems.
- Provide information to assist the Commissioning Manager and Senior Commissioning Manager in meeting project-level objectives and milestones.
- Participate in the review of issues and arrangements to ensure that the commissioning programme can continue to manage risks effectively.
- Ensure that the commissioning process adheres to nuclear, environmental, and industrial safety regulatory requirements, incorporating international best practices in safety and technical excellence.

Who you are

As a Commissioning Authority Engineer, you’ll have some knowledge/experience in a highly regulated industry such as Nuclear Generation, Oil & Gas, or other heavy/manufacturing industries.

Your enthusiasm and drive for continuous improvement will be a valued part of the Commissioning team and HPC.


- Hold a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Technical background in industrial, power generation or process engineering.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Practitioner who possesses a natural flair for working with young children. You will play a vital role in driving and delivering outstanding practice, implementing engaging activities tailored to children’s interests, and ensuring their welfare and development.

As a Nursery Practitioner you will drive and deliver outstanding practice to help our future generation thrive and develop. Implementing a programme of activities along with planning for children’s individual interests will give you the fulfilment and rewards you need to end your day with a warm heart. You will be working alongside a team of fun and enthusiastic practitioners, along with promoting the welfare of children, whilst ensuring safety, comfort and safeguarding is considered at all times.

The Stationhouse Nursery was founded in 2013, houses beautiful large gardens and proximity to the Marina, Library, local shops, and Lake Grounds which are all within walking distance.

Nursery Practitioner main duties:

- Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development.

- Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met.

- Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery and promote these daily in every routine.

- Undertake any other duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, and the safety and wellbeing of children, staff, and families.

- Maintain strictly professional relationships and report any complaints or concerns to management in accordance with company policy and procedures.

- Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent.

- Attend regular team meetings to ensure that you remain updated on key priorities, changes, developments and regularly review company policies and procedures.

Requirements and skills:

- Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification – essential

- Fluent in written and spoken English - essential

- Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - desirable

- Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable

- Passion and commitment for working in childcare

Promoting improvement in the quality of care within the regional health system through clinical leadership and engagement. Exhibit clinical leadership and strategic influence across the whole system of care spanning primary, community, secondary, and specialised tertiary services such that the quality, safety, and experience of care is enhanced in all spheres, engaging clinicians at all levels in provision of best value care. In collaboration with the Regional Chief Nurse to enact and oversee systems which enable early notification of significant variations in clinical practice and the quality of patient care and to take timely remedial action. The Regional Medical Director will identify and mitigate clinical risks, acting as necessary to bring about improvements that will maintain and enhance clinical quality and safety. In collaboration with the Regional Chief Nurse he/she will lead on work promoting improvements in quality of care. The RMD will act as the patients champion, being independent and fair, promoting equality and diversity, reducing inequalities, ensuring value for money, securing good governance of NHS providers and challenging poor delivery of services. In collaboration with the Regional Chief Nurse, motivate, empower and support the regional quality team to ensure that appropriate assurance is received on clinical quality and governance. They will support the organisation to deliver its statutory duties, particularly in relation to the duty of quality, the promotion of innovation, patient experience and choice, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and equality and diversity. To contribute to and support national strategy for quality improvement. Work with the Director of Workforce, Training and Education to ensure there is a robust pipeline for medical leadership roles within the region, by supporting national initiatives such as the aspiring medical directors programme. Ensure there are support systems for newly appointed medical leaders within the region; Engage with the clinical leadership andengagement infrastructure, namely the Clinical Senates Council & Forum, the established Clinical Networks, Operational Delivery Networks, Health Innovation Networks (HINs) and ICBs, to drive transformation of the system in the interests of quality and value; Specifically, regarding Clinical Networks and HINs the post holder will be expected to agree business plans, ensure appropriate synergy and alignment with regional and national objectives, and undertake quarterly assurance meetings. Strategic change across the region will be delivered through support of ICSs, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and their leadership. The post holder will be expected to act as a source of advice and support for ICSs through the convening of ad hoc advisory groups where necessary and affording access to the formal advisory architecture.
