About the role

As a Social Care Assistant working within our day centre, you will be supporting adults with learning disabilities and elderly clients to provide them with personal care, feeding, employment support, domestic skills and activities such as arts and crafts, music and drama, and much more!

No two days will be the same as you meet a variety of people and support their individual needs. Some of the work tasks you will carry out include:

- Providing personal care for individuals, this may include but is not limited to dressing, toileting, washing and general housekeeping.

As part of this role, you will work within a team of Occupational Therapists providing a high level of acute rehabilitation to patients admitted following an acute stroke.

You will be required to work alongside the therapists and autonomously carrying out exercise and maintenance programmes. Your role will also involve you supporting with both group and rehabilitation sessions planned by a therapist.

To carry out delegated rehabilitation programmes which will include occupational therapy and physiotherapy, as directed by qualified professionals. To be responsible for co-ordinating own workload and ensure patients receive treatment sessions as directed by qualified professionals. To provide regular feedback about patient progress to qualified professional. Be responsible for the safe use of equipment. To recognise the specific aspects of the treatment session which should be fed back to qualified member of staff to enable them to progress or modify goals appropriately. To be actively involved in the implementation of and compliance with Mandatory Training. To be familiar with and work in accordance with Trust and Service Guidelines and Policies. To participate in formal personal development review and informal clinical supervision.
