The Director of Event Experience is responsible for a variety of duties necessary to plan and execute the guest experience at the NASCAR Chicago Street Race (CSR) weekend, scheduled for July 6-7, 2024, and subsequent race weekend in 2025. Responsibilities include on-site experience strategy, creation and execution of the guest experience throughout the event footprint, including NASCAR Village at Butler Field, Fan Plaza at Buckingham Fountain and the Festival Field. This person must be able to think strategically, creatively and operationally, balance multiple tasks and can easily collaborate with CSR team, NASCAR departments, production team, broadcast partners, various City of Chicago departments, vendors, and other involved parties.
Duties:
Direct the ideation, planning and execution of the programming strategy for all added-value and revenue-based guest programming and content efforts, in conjunction with event production partner Four Leaf Productions. Programming includes fan zones, live entertainment, interactive displays, youth activities, photo elements, display areas, public address system and on-site technology;
Manage pre-race ceremonies and post-race celebrations, including:
- Brainstorm unique, innovative content & programming for each event;
- Oversee the operational layout, overall logistics and guest access;
- Work closely with marketing team to execute branding vision;
Communicate effectively with key industry stakeholders such as production, broadcast partners, media and teams;
Work with the Event Entertainment Producer to create new, unique and interesting content for the event big screens & public address system;
Oversee the event guest services program with a targeted focus on the premium hospitality experience in conjunction with Four Leaf Productions;
Identify and embrace new, unique technologies and strategies to provide memorable, fan-focused event content for both internal and external stakeholders;
Build strong working relationships and encourage collaboration with all departments, especially the central event experience team, and key external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the guest experience during all events;
Establish and manage annual event experience budgets;

Qualifications
- College degree, preferably in related business field, i.e. Marketing, Sports Management
- Minimum four years live event production experience, with experience at temporary venues a significant plus
- Experience managing full and part time team members
- Self-starter who takes initiative and is able to take a project from start to finish
- Strong ability to think strategically, creatively and quickly
- Detail-oriented and organized with outstanding communication skills
- Ability to work through on-site event logistics and think operationally is a must
- True team player and collaborator
- Ability to coordinate and deliver multiple projects at once within strict deadlines
- Must be able to work extended hours and event weekends
- Valid driver’s license
