The Nurse Manager for Specialty Care at the Cape Girardeau HCC, provides direct supervision and oversight of daily operations, resources, and personnel within the specialty care, physical therapy and outpatient procedure services. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating services and outcomes; daily attention to complex personnel management problems; participation in decision making deliberations; and providing guidance and direction for the development and implementation of established standards of nursing practice.

The Nurse Manager reports directly to the Chief Nurse and is responsible for the management and evaluation of nursing care and supervision of assigned nursing personnel. As a PROGRAM MANAGER (MISSION SUPPORT OFFICER) - Title 32, GS-0340-14, you will serve as the host base Mission Support Group Commander, with a working knowledge of, and responsibility for directing all infrastructure operations of an aviation base. The Medicine/Telemetry unit has telemetry monitors for monitoring patients with chest pain or acute myocardial infarction in addition patients with circulatory disorders, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and heart failure are also served. The Medicine/Telemetry unit occasionally cares for patients, who have had surgical interventions but are in the chronic phase of treatment. Registered Nurses partner with LPN's and Nursing Assistants to provide patient and family centered care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, who support patients and families in decision-making.

The Registered Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring that subordinate nursing personnel provide timely nursing care which complies with generally accepted standards of clinical practice. This includes the authority to accept, amend or reject the work of subordinates.
