The School of Computer Science and Mathematics within the Faculty of Engineering and Technology seeks to appoint to the grade of Senior Lecturer or Senior Teaching Fellow in Computer Games Development.

We particularly welcome applications from candidates with a demonstrable experience in software engineering for games and interests in Testing/Profiling in Game Engines / C++ (e.g. Unreal Insights), Physics, AI, Ludology, Animation, Procedural Content Generation, or Deferred Rendering.

The role will require delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the School and the specific development of the areas listed to ensure our curriculum is up-to-date and meeting the needs of employers and applicants. You will also be expected to make broad contributions to the academic work of the School of Computer Science and Mathematics in the fields of computing and computer science.

In addition, you may contribute to the development and delivery of outreach and engagement initiatives as well as interdisciplinary project areas. You are likely to have a background in a relevant area with a PhD in a related subject and/or relevant professional experience from industry.

We are now looking to recruit a talented Senior Technical Officer to support with laboratory teaching and research within the Faculty. As you will work within a team of technicians, you should have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team including strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.

You should be able to evidence previous experience within a Civil Engineering and Built Environment laboratory and demonstrate a good working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Geotechnics, Hydraulics, Materials, Site Surveying, and/or Highways. Evidence of complying with Health and Safety standards, particularly in a laboratory environment, would also be a distinct advantage.

Acorn by Synergie is proud to be recruiting for our Public Sector client located in Wirral, North West, who are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Accountant. This is a contracted role, due to start on the 29/04/2024 estimated end date 28/07/2024, may be considered for extension.

This role will be a mixture of office based and hybrid work.

You will be required to work 36 hours per week, Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:15.

Job Purpose

The Senior Technical Accountant will provide accurate statutory reporting, financial management information, monitoring of key financial assets and statutory returns. This will require accurate and timely reporting of information, data interpretation and analytical review to finance and non-finance Officers and Members.

Qualifications required

• A recognised professional / technical accountancy qualification / part qualification (e.g. CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent.
• Desirable - Educated to degree level.

Experience

• Significant experience of working in a financial monitoring role, with a focus on capital accounting.
• Experience of working in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate financial reports, forecasts, and budgets for assigned teams, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
• Accurately deliver specific statutory information for the annual statement of accounts, information and submission of data for key regulatory returns, information to external auditors, responding to external audit requests. Meeting statutory deadlines for the external auditor and government body requirements.
• Support the interpretation and delivery of changes in statutory reporting requirements to finance and non-finance Officers.
• Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements

The Opportunity
The School of Computer Science and Mathematics offers a successful range of BSc, Integrated Masters and MSc programmes in Computer Science, Data Science and Mathematics, including various specialisms at BSc and MSc level. Enhancing Keele’s strength in Forensic Science, a BSc in Computer Science (Digital Forensics) was added to our portfolio in autumn 2023, and we are seeking to appoint a teaching-focused academic who will have a key role in leading and delivering this programme.

We invite applications from talented and enthusiastic experts in Digital Forensics who are passionate about delivering excellent teaching and student support. The ideal candidate will have a background in Computer Science, significant experience in designing, delivering and assessing taught modules and individual student projects in Higher Education, with a specific focus on Digital Forensics, as well as experience in programme design and academic administration. An established track record of obtaining funding or publishing results in relation to scholarship activities would further strengthen the application. However, we will also consider applicants who have acquired their experience outside academia.
