An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time position as a Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer (dependent upon experience) in Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) in the School of Allied Health Professions, to teach across the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum. The School offers high quality AHP undergraduate and postgraduate provision and is part of a wider research community via the Faculty Research Institutes.

BSc (Hons) Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) has been consistently recognised as high quality by our graduating students, as well as with employers. Enjoying excellent facilities, students study in a bespoke digital Diagnostic Imaging Suite with state-of-the-art simulation facilities such as a working theatre and CT, and bespoke digital health hub for image interpretation. Students also all have inter-professional educational opportunities with other Faculty of Medicine and Health Science students. The Radiography programme is newly revalidated with the addition of an apprentice route (radiography and assistant practitioner routes). Additionally, the MSc Medical Imaging will launch in 2025 with multi-disciplinary ultrasound provision. These opportunities offer exciting prospects to individuals wishing to further their scholarship and research activities as well as widen their teaching and learning skills.

You will be a Master’s level ultrasound radiographer UK HCPC registration with teaching and research or scholarship experience within Higher Education (or at a similar level of engagement within the clinical environment). A Senior Lecturer applicant would have additional experience of leadership within education programmes, academic mentorship of colleagues and experience of providing strategic vision leadership in the development of educational programmes and enterprise.

The Opportunity
This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join the public/global health team within Keele University’s School of Medicine. The team delivers a range of public health activities, including a blended Master of Public Health course, an online Master of Public Health course, a Global health undergraduate pathway and a public health curriculum within the Keele medical degree (MBChB).

The successful candidate will support and contribute to the development of the public and global health courses within the School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering teaching and learning material which introduces and develops understanding of the basis of drug action to undergraduate MPharm and BSc students in the context of pharmacy and pharmaceutical science. You will also be responsible for developing your own research within a field of science which augments and complements ongoing research at Keele. You will develop this research under the guidance of the School Research Director and in collaboration with local Principal Investigators.

You will have a PhD (or an equivalent qualification) in biochemistry, pharmacology or a related subject; experience of teaching in a university setting; and an established track record of research with publications in high quality journals.

You will also have the opportunity to assist the research team to draft academic articles for peer reviewed journals.

You will also provide day-to-day project administration support to the team such as organising meetings, engagement events with external organisation and stakeholders, minute taking, collating, and formatting documents, booking travel and collating expenses. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with keen interest in social media and demonstrable experience in maintaining office systems within a research environment.

Keele University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Film Studies (Education & Scholarship) within the School of Humanities. The successful candidate will ensure an excellent student experience by contributing to teaching, assessment, and administration processes associated with undergraduate and potentially postgraduate programmes, and to undertake and potentially publish scholarship commensurate with their career stage. Applicants with a teaching specialism in any area of Film Studies are welcome, but the successful candidate will be a versatile teacher, able to cover modules on British and on world cinemas at all three undergraduate levels. Modules you will teach will include ‘Global Popular Cinemas’, ‘Gender and the Cinematic Gaze’, and ‘British Social Realism’.

The Opportunity

The School of Life Sciences is seeking to appoint a permanent Lecturer in Pharmacology.

The School of Life Sciences is currently expanding its research and teaching portfolio in the field of pharmacology. The Opportunity
The School of Computer Science and Mathematics offers a successful range of BSc, Integrated Masters and MSc programmes in Computer Science, Data Science and Mathematics, including various specialisms at BSc and MSc level. Enhancing Keele’s strength in Forensic Science, a BSc in Computer Science (Digital Forensics) was added to our portfolio in autumn 2023, and we are seeking to appoint a teaching-focused academic who will have a key role in leading and delivering this programme.

We invite applications from talented and enthusiastic experts in Digital Forensics who are passionate about delivering excellent teaching and student support. The ideal candidate will have a background in Computer Science, significant experience in designing, delivering and assessing taught modules and individual student projects in Higher Education, with a specific focus on Digital Forensics, as well as experience in programme design and academic administration. An established track record of obtaining funding or publishing results in relation to scholarship activities would further strengthen the application. However, we will also consider applicants who have acquired their experience outside academia.

We seek to appoint a Research Fellow/ Clinical Research Fellow to play a central role in TRANSLATE (Translating evidence for Early Intervention in Psychosis in Low and Lower-Middle Countries LMICs: Implementation and Evaluation) programme of research newly funded as part of the NIHR Global Research Professorship award to Prof. Saeed Farooq. This is an exciting research opportunity for developing and evaluating a new model of care for early psychosis in resource constrained setting. The research programme involves establishing services in number of sites, follow up of participants for one year and evaluating the service using both quantitative and qualitative methods. A nested cohort will be used for developing and validating a prediction model for early recognition of treatment resistant psychosis.

The successful candidate will lead the programme from conception to completion and will work directly under the supervision of Prof Saeed Farooq. You will be based at Keele University, School of Medicine, which incorporates research in mental and global health which is one of University's strategic research areas. You will work closely with early career researchers based at LMIC sites who will be implementing the early intervention in psychosis programme at sites in LMIC countries. You will have the opportunity to use your initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, develop research methods, and extend your research portfolio.

You will have a PhD with an in-depth knowledge and experience in early intervention in psychosis. The understanding of healthcare systems and developing services in LMIC is desirable. Candidates without a PhD will be considered if they have completed clinical training in psychiatry with relevant experience in early intervention in psychosis or related fields and have in-depth knowledge of research methods demonstrated by publications and other research outputs. Ideally you will also have project development and management experience.

The post will be based at Keele for research purposes and in Midlands Partnership University Foundation Trust for clinical work.
Our global health research programme started in January 2017 and current global health projects are funded by GCRF, AHRC, MRC and NIHR. This will be an excellent opportunity for a clinician or clinical psychologist to develop the academic expertise in these areas of research. The Opportunity

It is an opportunity to join the Faculty Clinical Skills Team which is committed to supporting the clinical delivery of high-quality educational programmes.

Working as a team you will provide daily technical and administrative support for all teaching undertaken in the Clinical Skills Laboratories at the Clinical Education Centre at the University Hospital Campus. You will be part of the Research Development Team, within the Research and Innovation Support (RaISE) team, tasked with driving high-quality external funding applications and proactively supporting delivery of the University’s ambition to increase the quality and volume of its research and secure the funding to do so. You will support the Senior Research Development Managers in implementing the institutional Research and Innovation Strategy by providing high-quality support to academics in developing research funding proposals. You will provide proactive and reactive guidance on funding opportunities to stimulate research grant development. You will project manage the proposal development process, working closely and in a coordinated way with academic and professional services colleagues.

You will hold a degree and will have relevant experience in supporting development of research. You will also bring to the role a firm understanding of the landscape of research funding in the UK and excellent organisation and project management skills.
