This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4/G-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The purpose of this position is to plan, schedule, control, and monitor the status of equipment maintenance; and to assist a higher-graded Production Controller.

DUTIES
1. Establishes plans, schedules, and controls the maintenance and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment such as combat vehicles, heavy-duty engineering and mobile equipment, tracked vehicles, towed and self-propelled artillery, communications and electronic equipment, guided missile systems, and small arms. Implements maintenance plans and monitors progress of accomplishments.

2. Studies directives, modification work orders, and regulations as to their application in the unit. Assists supervisory personnel in determining impact of these requirements on shop capability.

3. Designates and maintains current maintenance repair priorities by Force Activity Designator, pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes (ERC) A, B, and C equipment type, available funds, commander's priority, state/national priorities, (in the case of floods, fires, and mobilizations) and unit supported.

4. Provides assistance to ensure that Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTO&E) or Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) reportable Line-Item Numbers (LIN) are properly managed, reported and accounted for with respect to readiness reports, property accountability reports and system management.

5. Analyzes repair methods and recommends control procedures to ensure that accomplishment of programs meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities. Coordinates with units and other support activities concerning the delivery, status of repair operations, and/or pick up of completed work orders.

6. In the absence of the higher graded production controller, ensures that unit CL IX accounts are funded, budgeted, and executed to maximize readiness; and performs demand analysis on CL IX expenses to determine proper PLL stockage to sustain facility mission requirements.

Starting at $49,025 Per Year (GS 7)

The Boiler Plant Operator uses manual and automatic controls to operate the Boiler Plant in the Operations Section of Facilities Management Service at the Lyons Campus. Performs all duties required to maintain the safe and efficient operation of a high-pressure steam boiler plant and performs all preventive maintenance duties, adjustments and corrective actions as required and necessary.

The Boiler Plant Operator performs all duties required to maintain the safe and efficient operation of a 3500-horsepower high-pressure steam boiler plant, operating steam pressure of boilers between 100 and 135 psi, consisting of five (5) 700-HP fire tube boilers (with economizers) automatic and. manually fired combination oil and natural gas burning. The total capacity is 120, 750 lbs. /hr. with an average output of 40,000 to 45,000 lbs. /hr.

The Incumbent performs all preventive maintenance duties, adjustments and corrective actions as required and necessary. The incumbent operates the feed water system, the steam system, domestic water, natural gas, fuel oil, and local control panels at each individual boiler and the main control panel with plant and boiler master controls along with all associated transmitters and recorders. The Incumbent operates systems and related components. Operations of the feedwater system consists of backflow preventers, water softeners, make-up tank, transfer pumps, a 100,000 lbs./hr. Deaerating Feedwater Heater and feed water pumps. The domestic water system includes a plant water softening system. The chemical feed system includes batch tanks, chemical storage tanks and chemical feed pumps. The natural gas system includes the main gas meter and regulator, solenoid operated cut-out valve, emergency cut-off switches, high and low gas pressure switches, filters, pressure regulators, pilots, solenoid valves, vents, and propane back-up pilot system. • Knowledge of principles and methods of operating high-pressure oil and gas-fired boilers and of the methods employed in determining and obtaining efficient combustion.

Physical Requirements: The incumbent will frequently work in confined areas in and around boilers and support equipment (i.e., auxiliary and pollution control equipment). The work requires moderate to strenuous effort and long periods of walking, standing, climbing, bending, and crouching. Workers frequently lift and carry boiler parts and chemical supplies weighing up to 18 kilograms (40 pounds) unassisted and occasionally items weighing over 18 kilograms (40 pounds) with assistance of other workers or weight handling equipment.

• Incumbent must possess and maintain a CDL Commercial Driver's License and submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
• Operate gas and diesel-powered engineering and construction equipment, large industrial tractors with several different attachments. Operate grader, dump trucks and dump trailers, end loader, dozer, boom, and snowplow.

Collects, consolidates, performs analysis and reconciles variances to ensure data integrity within associated programs. Incumbent coordinates between other ANG units, the National Guard Bureau, Department of Defense agencies, and the Government Supply Agency to ensure accurate accountability for vehicle receipt or transfers. Manages and audits cost data to ensure all materials are validated and properly charged. Coordinates load testing and repair of load bearing equipment; obtains copies of load test certification, maintains official files of the status of equipment, and ensures budgetary funds are available for such tests. Manages the Quality Assurance program ensuring compliance with standards and regulatory guidance. The Global Security Operations Center must be staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The GSOC Operator is responsible for using industry best practices to identify, analyse, and support all incidents that are either impactful or potentially impactful to the business, the brand and or employees.
