We are currently recruiting for an ICA Technician (Instrumentation, Control & Automation) to join our waste division at Esher Sewage Treatment Works. This is an exciting hands-on opportunity where you will assist in keeping the site running.

On a day-to-day basis, you will receive your planned workload and will also be responding to emergency alarms. You will be working as part of a team but may also be alone which highlights the importance of our high H+S standards. You will have your van and tools supplied which you will keep maintained to a high standard.

It is envisaged that the Successful will be a self-motivated individual who can immerse themselves into the team around them, as well as being disciplined and have the desire to learn from those around them and have a can-do attitude. This role can be demanding at times but very rewarding too.

What you’ll be doing as an ICA Technician

- Carrying out planned maintenance (PPM) which includes some mandatory tickets and some reactive maintenance on defective equipment.
- working in a multi-disciplinary team, alongside a range of operational teams such as systems, mechanical, and electrical technicians.
- Installing, modifying, and commissioning new plant equipment to relevant standards, and diagnosing and repairing faults in systems and plants. Proactively identifying and reporting follow-up work or areas for enhancement and delivering cost-effective improvements to assets and systems.
- Investigation into plant failures and the implementation of subsequent repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- You will be responsible for providing specialist technical advice where appropriate with up-to-date technical knowledge.

Base Location – Esher STW- Surrey - KT10 8AU, This is a field-based role so you will be covering the Home Counties area.

38 hours per week Monday-Friday.7:30-15:36 plus the inclusion onto a standby rota for which you will receive additional Payment.

All PPE, tools and van will be provided.

What should you bring to the role?

- Experience with PLCs and SCADA systems and communication network systems, instrumentation including flow, level, pressure etc.
- Experience with variable speed drives (VSDs) and other starting methods for motors/pumps.
- Ideally, you will be qualified to HNC level or otherwise will have City and Guilds Part 2 or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in an instrumentation, control and automation discipline.
- Preferable for you to have 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification and 3-phase electrical knowledge or qualifications.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces with successful completion of the appropriate training.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Process Technician to join our waste team to work on approximately 256 waste pumping stations in the Esher area.
As the successful candidate, your role will be to perform a range of activities to ensure that all equipment associated with our Waste Pumping Stations is running safely and efficiently and to assist the technicians with their technical duties.

Base Location: Esher STW KT10 8AU.
Working Pattern or hours: Monday-Friday 7:30-15:36. 38 hours per week including working on a 1 in 6 call out rota where you will receive additional payment.

What you’ll be doing as a Process Technician

- Monitoring and inspecting equipment, following a checklist to carry out planned preventative maintenance, and ensuring equipment/generators/telemetry are operating correctly.
- Reporting any defective equipment, to ensure a swift resolution following any breakdowns.
- Highlighting, and resolving where possible, any health and safety risks on site.
- Taking ownership of your own, and colleagues, health and safety by escalating any concerns to your manager and resolving them yourself where possible.
- Make sure the work area is safe before commencing any work by undertaking a point-of-work risk assessment using your PDA device.
- Having an awareness of budget position and how unplanned events can impact the budget. (e.g., tanker/plant/pump hire, etc.)
- Working at other sites covering holiday/sickness / extra workload as and when required. Liaising with the planning and scheduling team to ensure your workload is managed correctly.
- Using a PDA device to record work orders being completed.
- Attending all team meetings, engaging with safety briefings and company communications, identifying issues, and raising constructive feedback with the management team, with suggestions for improvements.

What you should bring to the role

- Be a self-motivated individual who can immerse themselves into the team around them, you need to be very disciplined have the desire to learn from those around you and have a can-do attitude. This role can be demanding at times but very rewarding too.

A position has now become available for a static electrically biased M&E engineer to be based at a prestigious shopping Centre in Camberley, Surrey.



The Role :



You will be working on the following on a daily basis across the shopping centre:

- Planned Preventive Maintenance (mostly lighting maintenance and fire alarm weekly bell checks) to work on a mobile basis across their commercial property portfolios.
- General Plumbing PPM and repairs

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician based at our water production sites in East Thames Valley (Newbury or Reading).

The overall responsibility of this role is to ensure that all equipment at our water production sites is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair electrical equipment.

Follow robust planned maintenance as well as getting involved in minor installation projects, electrical fault finding and emergency breakdown repairs to ensure our plant operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

What you’ll be doing as the Electrical Technician

- Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process.
- This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents.
- You will be expected to provide technical advice, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and provide training or support for technical trainees if required.
- Examples of equipment that you will be working on will be motors, gearboxes, screw /chain conveyors & centrifuges, various pumps, and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSD, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, chemical handling and dosing equipment.
- Participate in a stand-by rota following the relevant training.
- Complete License to operate. (Operate sites and learning the water treatment processes).

What you should bring to the role

- 18th Edition electrical City and Guilds certification is crucial.
- Ideally an apprenticeship with significant experience in electrical systems working in a ‘true multi-skilled capacity'.
- NVQ or City & Guilds level 3 in mechanical engineering would also be ideal but not essential.
- Experience in inspecting, maintaining, fault diagnosis, testing, installation, modifying or repairing Electrical plant equipment.
- Ideally experience maintaining large pumps, actuated valves, electronic control systems such as VSD and 3-phase electrical switchgear is essential.
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues relevant to the industry would benefit this role.
- The work will require physical fitness.
- You will need the ability to work in confined spaces and will require the completion of appropriate training for this.
- A full UK driving licence is essential.

We’re looking for an individual with deep FM expertise to join our UK&E Growth team as a Bid SME – Facilities Management. In this role you’ll use your expertise to develop winning solutions for our customers, working with workstream leads across Serco to create and articulate our FM value proposition.

With a newly appointed FM Bid Director & FM Solution Director, a healthy pipeline of bidding activity and a clear strategy, now is a great time to join our FM team. You’ll play a key role in shaping the future of some of the largest FM contracts into the public sector, you’ll also be part of a new team, building in-house FM expertise within Serco.

As part of this you will:

- Work with SMEs, Growth & Operational colleagues and specialists to develop solutions and translate into winning propositions for our customers.
- Capture subtleties and nuances within our solutions and to replicate the passion of our SMEs and operational teams within out bid responses.
- Support the bid team in the creation of storyboards and to ensure that these are adhered to throughout bid creation.
- Elegantly incorporate themes, USPs, sales messages, case studies and ‘hot button’ material into responses.
- Provide high quality bid writing services to bids of various scales and complexity on either an individual or portfolio basis.
- Create quality responses which are well-written, accurate, concise, and visually engaging and which effectively convey the required message, answer the customer’s requirements (including adherence to word counts, presentational requirements, and evaluation criteria requirements) and score well.
- Conduct additional research to supplement bid responses including collation and presentation of relevant data.
- Support the monitoring and continuous improvement of all quality of bid submissions ensuring high standards of attention to detail.


What you'll need to do the role:

- Expertise within Facilities Management, gained within a similar SME role or operational role.
- Highly customer focused and an excellent relationship manager.
- Record of driving innovation and excellence in Bidding FM contracts.
- Ability to quickly grasp and assimilate complex information and apply creative intellect.
- Good presentation & communication skills, comfortable presenting at SMT level.
- Methodical, process-driven and organised with excellent influencing skills and attention to detail.

As Regional Facilities Manager, you will be:

• Producing a monthly facilities heat map for Governance.
• Providing property and technical support to the Services, providing expertise, advice, and appropriate action.
• Assisting with the capital expenditure budget for Elysium, ensuring planned CapEx projects are delivered on budget, to time and within quality constraints.
• Assisting with inspections from regulatory bodies such as CQC, HSE, Local Authority and Fire service where required.
• Advising Service Managers on equipment breakdowns and reactive maintenance issues, assist in expediting the most effective solution.
• Conducting regular condition surveys and feed this back to the Regional Operations Director and the Capex process.
• Attending divisional operational meetings and facilities meetings when needed.
  

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Building/Trade based qualification
• CMS or DMS
• IOSH
• Up-to-date knowledge of facilities compliance standards
• 3yrs minimum experience of working within a health care or similar environment
• Demonstrable experience in a facilities reactive role
• Knowledge of property construction methods, building fabric and mechanical & electrical services
• Project management – experience of project managing simultaneous CapEx projects – from replacements to major refurbishments
• Experience in aspects of leading a property function, including the resource and budget management

ABOUT THE MAINTENANCE PERSON ROLE
Within your role as Maintenance Person, you will be working jointly with the Home Manager to ensure that our home is maintained to the highest of standards. Your responsibilities will include:

Ensure that all the property remains in a safe and structural condition and that all utilities are fully operational.
Ensure that all tools and equipment used are stored in a safe place for the protection and safety of residents and staff & ensure that the storage of all cleaning and dangerous materials conform to the Home’s COSHH policy
Complete the various maintenance, fire and health and safety checks as advised by the Home Manager.
Ensure that any vehicle used to transport residents is in a safe condition and conform to legal requirements.
Carry out light plumbing, electrical and carpentry work, in line with skill levels and qualifications, as well as decorating.
