As a Maintenance Electrician at NNL you will be performing routine maintenance on a wide range of Electrical and Instrumentation plant systems. You will also carry out project work, breakdown repairs and safe isolations.

Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria for Maintenance Electrician:

• Time served Electrician or Instrument Mechanic holding recognised apprenticeship (e.g. NVQ level 3 Electrical Instrumentation or equivalent).
• Able to understand single-line electrical drawings, instructions and manuals.
• Proficient in English and Maths.
• Become Developed Vetting cleared (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial, criminal record checks, interview plus 10 years of UK residency).
• Self-motivated, driven and resilient.
• Able to make correct and informed decisions under pressure.
• Evidence of self-motivation with demonstrable levels of drive, energy and resilience.
• Required to become Appointed as a Nominated Person Electrical.

Job Description for Electrical and Instrumentation Craft (Shifts):

The Electrical Craft is responsible for carrying out safe, quality, and efficient maintenance/breakdown & project activities within Central Laboratory. They shall ensure all activities are being undertaken in a safe and compliant manner, to meet all requirements of the Nuclear Site Licence (as applicable) and all Regulatory and Legislative purposes.

The working pattern for this role will be 5 double day shifts.

Main Responsibilities for Electrical and Instrumentation Craft (Shifts):

• Responsible for conducting corrective, preventative and scheduled maintenance activities on a range of plant equipment as directed by the Fix It Now Team Leader (FIN TL).
• Responsible for undertaking any electrical associated project work as demand necessitates.
• Responsible for carrying out fault diagnosis on electrical and instrumentation systems to aide efficient rectification of faults.
• Responsible for carrying out safe, effective and controlled isolations of Electrical Plant within their designated area. They shall be responsible for highlighting any issues immediately to the FIN TL.
• Responsible for completing MOVEX job cards in accordance with site standards to ensure that good quality maintenance history is recorded.
• Responsible for supporting the designated facility in the installation, modification and commissioning of rigs and installed equipment, including identifying and assisting in delivery of plant and process improvements.
• Responsible for ensuring that the maintenance/breakdown/project tasks they are involved in are always covered by an appropriate Safe System of Work (SSOW) and complied with.
• Responsible for checking and fully understanding the Electrical Instructions/Proof Tests that they are working to. If unsure at any point during delivery, they shall stop, make safe and highlight any issues to the FIN TL.
• Responsible for ensuring that appropriate workplace standards are always maintained, and the correct tools and equipment are selected for the task and used only as intended.
• Expected to actively participate in team briefs and 'Learning From Experience' (LFE) reviews, taking personal action to resolve any issues or shortfalls in their area. If further resolution is required, they must highlight this to the FIN TL.
• Always comply with company/site standards and expectations of behavior and performance. They must actively challenge others they see not doing so and encourage the behaviors expected.
• Responsible for their individual performance and achieving the objectives set by the FIN TL.
• Responsible for attending all training identified by the Training Department and the FIN TL, ensuring their training is maintained and does not expire.

Role Responsibilities:

• Liaise with commercial / technical / operational management to develop contractor lists and develop new business prospects.
• Work with the Contracts Manager, prepare annual business plans identifying opportunities and development of the small project's operations.

• Procure labour / materials and sub-contractors in accordance with buying procedures ensuring waste and costs are minimised.

• Maintain accurate project administration files and costs (financial records).

The successful candidate:

• Extensive experience in a Project Engineering or Senior Electricians role
• Knowledge of key operational management disciplines, e.g., quality control, work planning methods and Health & Safety practices

A client within the public sector based in Cumbria is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, contract position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a housing environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to challenge spend and quality of works, keeping projects and programmes of work to be delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Carrying out pre and post inspections of repairs on both responsive and void properties, managing a patch covering North Lakes, ensuring high-quality work.
• Providing technical advice and support to our trades, maintenance managers, subcontractors and suppliers so we deliver a high-quality, cost-effective and compliant service.
• Contract management including progress against building works schedules.
• Utilising customer insight to support us in delivering on our customer promise.
• Managing any disrepair cases and helping customers combat damp and mould issues in their homes. Accurately measuring materials to enable a 'right first time' approach.
• Ensuring void re-servicing is carried out to a high standard, enabling re-let as soon as possible

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require Building surveying experience including property condition and dilapidation surveys and specifying remedial works. Hold a Building Surveying qualification HND, HNC or Degree Level.

It will be essential to be in experiences in the below:

• Current knowledge of building repairs, construction as well as CDM roles and responsibility.
• Able to manage, control budgets and expenditure.
• A vehicle insured for business purposes.
• A self-starter approach, able to work unsupervised to manage your own patch, working commercially to deliver our programmes of work on time and to budget.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £20 p/h PAYE (approx. £600 p/w)
