• As a General Supply Specialist, you will be responsible for the following duties which will be performed in a developmental capacity:
• Performing work which involves deciding which supplies, equipment, or merchandise to purchase and maintaining an adequate stock of supplies, equipment, or merchandise
• Researching causes of inventory discrepancies related to customer orders and performing inventory reconciliation activities
• Determining availability of products or sources for products
• Analyzing and manipulating supply system data to make sound business decisions

Major duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintains communications with receiving facilities regarding beneficiaries return travel arrangements.
• Reviews requests for reimbursement of travel costs for the purpose of assuring compliance with regulations and procedures, completeness, accuracy, internal consistency, and agreement with basic authorization.
• Reconciles vouchers against authorizations for accuracy prior to preparing certification for payments. Responsible for balancing, reconciling, and adjusting invoices for payment.
• Prepares daily expenditure reports.
• Manages activities for beneficiary travel control points.
• Determines legal entitlement to travel reimbursement, applies deductible requirements and computes amount to be paid to beneficiaries.
• Maintains a master list of deductibles met for each month on every patient that visits this facility and authorizes or denies reimbursement accordingly.
• Process requests for travel reimbursement utilizing various systems to determine service connection eligibilities, hardship qualification, appointment verification at local and outside facilities, proof of address, and other criteria.
• Serves as record keeper and coordinator of patient funds on deposit.
• Maintains accounting records and control log.
• Records money from the Emergency Department safe and releases the money to the patients or, if necessary, next of kin, in coordination with Decedent Affairs.
• Responsible for the accuracy of all patient funds transactions, including all deposits and withdrawals.
• Determines if a Patient Funds account is restricted or unrestricted and indicates the status on each signature card and computer entry.
• Prepares and submits monthly Patient Funds monitors as required by the Fiscal Service in a timely manner.

• Provides Quality Assurance advice and coordination on assigned Engineering Technical Management (ETM) Team supporting the Captains of Industry (COI) strategic contract.
• Performs Quality/Technical oversight of DLA materials provided to the customer and has the ability to adapt and be resourceful in unexpected situations.
• Provides evaluation of contractor performance with respect to quality of DLA materials received by the activity and recommends corrective actions to Supply Centers.
• Reviews technical, contracting and quality history data and develops contract quality provisions specific to each item.
• Responds to customer complaints on Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs). Investigates, resolves, and takes corrective action to prevent recurrence of PQDRs.
• Furnishes technical assistance to Acquisition Specialists regarding evaluation of offers and Best Value/Source Selection.
• Develops materials required for briefings as requested and participates in meetings involving assigned projects, programs and/or items.

• Utilizes available Information Technology (IT) systems to extract and analyze DoD and DLA transactional data from DLA’s IT system of record and related data warehouses, tables, and resources.
• Monitors, analyzes, and evaluates implementation of accepted proposals for improving KPIs.
• Recommends improvements based on analyses and/or trends.
• Advises and assists senior management and enterprise Leadership in defining performance.
• Conducts, reviews and provides expert analysis regarding demand/supply chain performance issues and when required coordinates with functional process analysts and subject-matter specialists throughout the enterprise.
• Analyzes data regarding past, present, and projected demand/supply chain activity.
• Metrics, and other demand/supply chain performance critical data to ensure the demand/supply chain. Area is meeting its performance targets, and identifies trends and other factors adversely affecting performance.
• Identifies demand/supply chain issues and develops proposals for new or revised process structures to improve performance effectiveness.
