New-to-Canada, one of the portfolios in the Segments Marketing team, is hiring a Marketing Manager to help support the growing requirements with end-to-end responsibilities. It’s a dynamic line of business with initiatives that require strategic thinking and problem-solving, effective communication and time management, strong attention to detail especially in execution, and ability to translate research and data into actionable insights. Main responsibilities, but not limited to, are events sponsorships and strategic partnerships. The Marketing team is responsible for all consumer-facing communications and supports the Product team’s initiatives and goals, which ultimately delivers on BMO’s business objectives. All communications are to be correct, consistent and compliant.

Works collaboratively with business/group and stakeholders to assess communications needs, recommend communications plans & solutions, secure necessary approvals, and create/deliver communication solutions that effectively support and address communications needs. Sources content and feedback, assesses information and translates thoughts into effective communications solutions. Delivers high quality communications solutions that target audiences can easily access, understand and action that are alignment with company standards.

• Makes recommendations and /or assists in solving problems to ensure communication solutions are implemented.

• Participates in communication strategy development.

• Gathers content from multiple sources and develops communications for various vehicles including leadership messages, intranets, town halls, newsletters, video, presentations and new social media.

• Identifies and liaises with the stakeholders about opportunities for communications to other groups (e.g. customers, media, etc.) to increase communication effectiveness and alignment.

• Supports business/group change management activities from a communications perspective.

Qualifications:

• Typically 4 - 6 years of professional working experience in strategy and campaign management with a marketing role on the brand side or agency side (paid media or events) as the primary client lead. One to two years of work experience in banking/financial institutions, previous experience on New-to-Canada business or personal experience as a newcomer to Canada is an asset.

• Work well under pressure with strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders while ensuring strong attention to detail

• Strong ability to apply research/data/learnings into strategic plans to deliver on business goals (and not just providing data), as well as ability to take technical and complex information and distill it to key messages that make sense for the audience

• Leads the development of priorities, current, and planned initiatives, and support requirements related to strategic management for the business/group.
• Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develops the business case by identifying needs, analysing potential options and assessing expected return on investment.
• Recommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements and develops roadmap for strategic execution.
• Manages resources and leads the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.
• Acts as the prime contact for internal/external stakeholder relationships, which may include regulators.
• Defines business requirements for analytics & reporting to ensure data insights inform business decision making.
• Supports the direct output of a senior leader (e.g. Group Head or above) accountable for a large strategic business/function.
• Leads the execution of designated business programs; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.
• Develops and manages comprehensive information management systems; designs and/or leads initiatives to improve processes, analysis and reporting.
• Makes recommendations to leaders on financial management processes based on changing requirements.
• Supports development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conducts independent review, analysis, and resolution of strategic issues.
• Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.
• Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
• Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
• Leads or participates in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.
• Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
• Acts as the primary point of contact for service / customer complaint escalations managing the process and communication and following up to ensure customer satisfaction and optimizing overall customer experience.
• Ensures the effective planning and control of unit operating expenses in accordance with business forecasts to ensure spending is maintained within budget.
• Coordinates budgets and reporting to track actual results vs. budget.
• Employs systems (e.g. customized exception reports, tracking reports etc.) to manage information.
• Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
• Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
• Implements changes in response to shifting trends.
• Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

• Typically 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prosci Certification and/or an MBA is an asset.
• Experience leading business management and change management projects in partnership with broad range of stakeholders.
• Exceptional ability to build strong relationships and influence change across all levels
• Adaptable and agile in navigating through evolving changes and ambiguous situations
• Excellent communication, coaching, and mentorship skills
• Solid analytical, and problem-solving skills to solve complex issues
• Strong self-starter, team player, and a master juggler of priorities
