Basic Qualifications 

• 10 years of relevant construction safety experience with an undergraduate degree in safety and health (or related discipline) or demonstrated construction safety and trade experience 

• Ability to communicate and influence supervisors, peers, and external partners 

• Ability to manage large scale and high profile projects.

• Proof of training and experience in managing crane, fall protection, excavation, scaffolds, and heavy equipment safety 

• Exposure to preconstruction efforts

• Ability to communicate effectively with, persuade, and gain buy-in from a broad range of stakeholders from a new craft worker to senior executive leader 

• Strength in managing multiple competing priorities in a deadline driven environment

Clark Civil

Clark Civil performs heavy/civil work including airport, heavy rail, light rail, bridges, interstate road work, electrical substations, water and wastewater treatment, and facilities projects ranging from $10 million to $500 million.  Clark Civil delivers projects through a variety of contracting methods, including design/build, construction manager at-risk, and general contracting.  With a staff of over 20 percent professional engineers, Clark Civil's projects are led by an experienced heavy/civil technical staff and supported by a multidisciplinary, in-house team.  Clark Civil is a division of Clark Construction Group, LLC

The Staff Attorney plays a role in negotiating and advising on contracts across Clark’s Building and Infrastructure projects.  The Attorney serves as a partner to leaders across the business, also working with outside counsel where appropriate to handle a range of complex owner and subcontractor contracts. 

Responsibilities

• Analyze, review and draft contracts (construction contracts, subcontracts, and other miscellaneous agreements)

• Lead negotiation efforts to achieve contract terms consistent with Clark’s corporate standards

• Provide legal guidance to corporate leadership on various business and industry related matters

• Work with the Department Leadership to provide legal support to Clark and its subsidiaries

• Prepare and facilitate corporate matters including preparing resolutions and minutes of directors’ and shareholders’ meetings, and other miscellaneous corporate documents

• Participate in dispute avoidance/resolution strategy sessions with departmental and company leadership

• In conjunction with outside counsel, coordinate responses to pleadings, discovery, and demands

• Provide training to the organization on a variety of legal topics

• Proactively identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate and win the right work

Basic Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree from a top accredited law school·  

• Active bar membership

• Approximately 2 - 4 years of law firm or clerkship experience

• Construction experience is a plus but not required

• Strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

• Work with Align team members to prepare written and oral responses to requests for solicited as well as unsolicited proposals

• Lead due diligence on prospective commercial real estate and social infrastructure investments with a lens to both debt and equity capital stacks; real estate market fundamentals; state and local property tax legislation; as well as Federal financing programs

• Create and update financial models that capture a variety of capital structures; including both taxable and tax-exempt financial structures for a Project

• Engage with third parties such as conduit issuers, underwriters, lenders, rating agencies, and legal advisors to achieve an optimal project financing structure

• Assist in the review and management of all relevant Project contracts and documents related to finance requirements

• Write investment memorandums summarizing the key macroeconomic assumptions of each Project

• Regularly track deal activity in the P3 market

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university with coursework in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance and/or Economics

• 2-5 years of relevant work experience at an Investment Bank, Commercial Bank, Private Equity firm, Public Private Partnership development firm; Financial Advisory Firm, Consulting firm, or Non-Profit developer

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities to conclusion within agreed upon deadlines

• Demonstrated ability to work independently; take initiative with work with minimal supervision

• Dedication to building a career in the financial advisory industry; willingness to take the Series 50 exam (if required) within 12 months of hire date

• Advanced in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Willing to work in the office in either our McLean, VA Bethesda, MD, or Baltimore locations (*see note above about regional offices*)

The Security Manager provides full time, on site security management to ensure compliance with Government security requirements on a secured construction site. The Security Manager will be the primary representative/liaison with the Government security team.

Specific duties include:

Security Management

• Develop and enforce security plans and procedures for Controlled Unclassified Information/For Official Use Only documents and electronic information

• Interpret and enforce Government customer and company security policies and provide guidance and direction to personnel for all security matters

• Investigate security issues, incidents and violations; prepare incident reports; interface with Clark employees, subcontractors and Government Customers to resolve any issues

• Serve as a knowledgeable security resource for Clark personnel and subcontractors

Document Control

• Ensure proper document controls are in place to comply with security requirements

• Manage the destruction of project documents when no longer required

• Obtain documentation from all subcontractors that documents have been properly returned or destroyed

• Ensure electronic transmission, storage and destruction of files and hardware complies with security requirements

• Perform document control and information security audits

Project Support

• Coordinate construction activities with the Government security team

• Provide subcontractor security support and direction

• Process company vetting documents and maintain a list of all companies that have been approved for project access

• Process personnel badge and site access requests

• Maintain a list of all personnel approved for project and site access

• Track the expiration/renewal of badges and ensure the return of all badges when no longer required

• Manage and issue vehicle site access placards and parking permits

• Conduct project-specific security briefings/debriefings and security training

• C oordinate security and logistics for deliveries with Government and site security personnel
