As a Senior Advisor you may:

• Serve as subject matter expert for GDO's Environmental Reviews, Permitting, and Resource Adequacy division (GD 10)
• Lead and monitor GD 10's high priority and/or confidential initiatives through stages of conceptualization, testing, evaluation, and implementation
• Manage activities to support GD 10's mission and staff, providing expert guidance and advice on policies and programs
• Apply strategic and sound management principles when analyzing, justifying, comparing costs, and recommending whether work should be contracted
• Analyze alternative government program strategies and policy initiatives and stays informed on relevant policy, technology, and resource trends and assumptions affecting the U.S. energy system.
• Manage individual work efforts and participate in the analytic work of others to enable integrated assessments of programs, policies or legislative initiatives affecting generation credits.

As a Program Manager you may:

• Supervise a team of engineers, energy analysts, and other subject matter experts (SMEs) on the Federal Permitting Program team
• Manage execution of GDO's responsibilities for the issuances of Presidential Permits for transmission facilities at international borders and authorizing exports of electric energy
• Manage activities to support the execution of DOE's Coordinated Interagency Transmission Authorization and Permitting program, including cross-agency and interagency engagement
• Manage the development and portfolio of technical assistance and tools to improve transmission permitting processes for a diverse range of stakeholders or coordination with other GDO and DOE programs
• Apply strategic and sound management principles when analyzing, justifying, comparing costs, and recommending whether work should be contracted

As a Natural Resources Specialist you may:

• Ensure OCED project compliance with the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and related regulations.
• Assist in developing standards, policies, procedures, and processes to support cultural resource compliance and archaeological identification, protection, and recovery related to OCED projects.
• Performs risk-based reviews for NEPA, NHPA, and other major environmental issues that will help OCED successfully execute demonstration projects that will unleash private sector capital towards clean energy projects.
• Work collaboratively with other DOE employees and other federal, state, and local environmental officials, as appropriate, to ensure consistency and efficiency in NEPA and NHPA compliance.
• Evaluate assigned programs/projects and prepares documentation to support OCED's needs.

As an Environmental Compliance Specialist you may:

• Evaluate NEPA and other environmental compliance, protection, and surveillance programs for adequacy and effectiveness in meeting legal, regulatory, and programmatic requirements.
• Identify environmental program vulnerabilities in OCED projects, determine adequacy of corrective actions taken to address identified problems, and recommend new approaches to support compliance.
• Supports preparation of plans and reports that support OCED's compliance with NEPA and other major environmental regulations.
• Provide guidance and oversight to ensure evaluations are conducted for proposed actions; liaison with federal, state, local authorities, and the public on matters affecting environmental protection and public health and safety issues.
