Job Summary:
Reporting to the Managing Director Asia and VP, Procurement Culinary the Procurement Director ASIA will be responsible for procurement activities in Asia with three key areas of primary responsibility within this role.
- To formulate, implement, and drive a consistent region-wide approach towards all procurement activities within the Asia procurement team, ultimately ensuring that procurement policy, best practice & governance in all areas including procurement procedures, processes, and benefits tracking defined, implemented, and adhered to.
- Support the commercial development initiatives/projects in the region with improved supply chain solutions.
- Manage, drive, and control the cost reduction program in the region.
In this Asia-focused role, the Director is expected to deliver year-over-year improvement in total cost of ownership, quality, and service by working closely with each of the regional procurement organizations and respective suppliers.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
· The role will be responsible for managing the Region Asia Procurement teams
· Responsible for the overall regional procurement expertise; responsible for planning and implementation of regional spending and will oversee sourcing and procurement managers in the different countries
· Manage a team of sourcing managers to ensure savings targets are achieved and represent Supply Chain in the region management team
· Develop and report on savings targets and key performance indicators (KPIs)
· Provide contract negotiation expertise to regional teams ensuring compliance with all standards and governance
· Establish and maintain a close working relationship with corporate chefs and operations personnel
· Monitor ongoing effectiveness of the current supply base, manage supplier issues, and resolve performance and business issues on behalf of internal customers
· Engage directly with Customers to work on projects like new service concepts; material sourcing and development
· Support local cost improvements (Operational savings, MOB)
· Overall spending responsibility CHF 80m
Qualifications
Education:
· Educated to degree level or equivalent, Applied Sciences preferred
Work Experience:
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in managing supply chain/sourcing activities, or relevant management experience
- Previous leadership experience, three (3) years of people management experience
Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses, and Registration)
· Strong IT skills, including MS Office
Other Skills:
- Previous Total Cost Management experience and training a plus
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including influencing and negotiating
- Open-minded approach, out-of-the-box thinking
- Strategic Decision Making ability
- Tenacious and determined, able to drive change
