Get to know the Team:
The SPA team responsible for crafting the search experience, tailoring content personalization, and designing engaging ad and promotion experiences for customers operates at the intersection of technology, design, and marketing expertise. The team collaborates to deliver a seamless and personalized user journey.
Simultaneously, another facet of their responsibility lies in serving merchants through a robust marketing platform. This involves understanding the unique needs of merchants and empowering them with tools to effectively market their products or services. By enabling merchants to leverage the right marketing levers, whether through targeted advertising or strategic promotions, the team helps them attract new customers and amplify sales, fostering mutual growth and success.
Get to know the Role:
In the position of a Senior Product Designer, you'll be at the forefront of multiple initiatives, navigating various problem spaces within the team. You could find yourself as the sole point of contact for design, or you might partner up with a design lead. The role will involve immersion in all facets of the product development journey, right from strategizing product concepts to delivering solutions, all while assuming end-to-end ownership of the design processes and outcomes. Your role will be crucial in pushing the user experience beyond its current boundaries and ushering in transformative solutions. So, if you're one to put users at the center of your designs, relish tackling complex problems, and excel at steering creative processes, then this role is your perfect match.
The Day-to-Day Activities:
- Distill broad, conceptual ideas into practical and engaging interfaces.
- Actively involved in defining product strategy.
- Identify high-impact opportunities, and design features in pursuit of goals, and explain the rationale for your decisions.
- Advocate for our diverse user base with hard data and in-depth research to help meet their unique needs.
- Plan, prioritize coordinate, and conduct behavioral analysis, user requirements analysis, task analysis, conceptual modeling, and usability testing.
- Create flows, sketches, prototypes, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate concepts, solicit feedback, and drive an aligned approach among your team and stakeholders.
- Ensure consistency across all of our products & integrations by adhering to our design system standards and making updates when necessary. Work with engineering, product management, data, marketing, etc. to eliminate inconsistencies.
The Must-Haves
- A portfolio demonstrating relevant design capabilities is required.
- Experience with designing for web and app interfaces
- Think in terms of design systems and making rational design decisions.
- Understand the technical limitations and liberties behind your decisions and have enough chops to communicate your ideas to our engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate your design and the decisions that led to it through strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills.
- Visual design skills, especially in the construction of visual hierarchies, and attention to detail in typography, spacing, and color.
- 5+ years of experience as a product designer, UX designer, and interaction designer.
- Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Figma, Protopie, or tools with similar purposes.
